Thx everyone for the replies and resources ^^

Also I have qiyi qidi s right now...

I’m planning to buy mgc 2x2 or moyu weipo...

Would that help with my average?
Yea both of those would probably help. I would personally recommend the valk 2 I switched from the mgc to it and it made me better

So, I've been basically only doing BLD, and just now have started to learn the other events. I'm learning Ortega for 2x2, but I think I need help with the first face.
Is there a good tutorial on how to make the first face efficiently? I know I turn slow, but I'm sure I'm not doing it efficiently either.
Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I just realized I should be trying to make the face on the bottom, duh... Like I said, I'm old...

Hey everyone! I´m new to the cube world and I have a small project. I can´t simply, for the life of me, figure something out. Maybe some of you can tell me if it´s even possible. I took a 2X2 and put stickers on each side. Each side has 4 squares, so each sticker (4 total) on each side forms a picture. The problem is that every time I try to solve it, the picture is not fomed correctly. Is there a way for me to solve it and always get each square to fall on the same spot? For instance, I need each side to have A on the top left, B on the top right, C on the bottom left and D on the bottom right.

I hope this helps... So what I did was a trial test. Take the white side. I put 4 stickers that together form 2 lines of info, but when I solved it the bottom part didn´t fall where it was supposed to. On the other pic I even left the edges from the bottom color so I would know which was which. So like you can see, even though I can solve a side, I cannot guarantee that the individual squares will fall where that are supposed to, and not sideways. In my case, it just seems sheer luck to get the four squades of a color to form the picture I want. So I was wondering if there is an algorithm that would ensure I would get the pictures to form perfectly every time or is it just plain luck.

I'm trying to learn the CLL method, and I can't find any quick ways to do the first layer. What possible stuff could I do to make it easier to find a good first layer?

This is kinda specific, but one trick that helps me a lot is if you run into a case where it would make a good face, but it has opposite pieces swapped (like checkerboard), you can cancel into R2 F2 R2 at the end. So for example this case: (Scramble: U R2 F2 R' U R'), you can insert the yellow piece like normal, but cancel into R2 F2 R2, making the layer solution R U' R F2 R2

Hello everyone!

I am currently learning how to speedsolve a 2x2, and i use the Ortega method.
But recently i have been getting mad at myself for being slow. I average about 10-20 seconds.

Can someone help on how to get faster? Thanks :)

Be colour neutral with 2x2x2 isn't that hard. Be sub10 is a matter of 1 or 2 weeks when you learn Ortega.

Make sure you plan your first side in inspection and try to predict your D layer so that you don't need to look at it for pbl recognition.

Practice your algs a lot. A lot of Ortega is getting those algs down. Just put on some music or a podcast or a YouTube video and just go to your alg sheet and drill (do over and over again) your algs. Also, if you don’t like some of your algs, find new ones. I used to use the A-perm for opposite swap on top, and I switched to y-perm because I liked it a lot more.

I would suggest making sure that all of the algorithms you use are efficient. For OLL, always use algorithms that are 10 moves or less. For PBL, the longest algorithm you use should be either a T-Perm (14 moves) or a J-Perm (13 moves). Y-Perm is not good on 2x2.

It also helps to always be able to do the first face in 5 moves or less, but this requires being color neutral.

I started learning EG half a month ago. I have learned the Pi, Sune, Anti-sune and H cases of CLL so far. I plan to learn all of U Case in coming two days. But when I practice 2*2, it always takes me a few seconds to recognize which case it is, even the earliest case I learned. So is there any great idea to learn EG well? As for a further comment, how can I learn all CLLs well in 11 days?
