Yeah Berd is pretty much illiterate. Also Joe's cube feels like ****. It's so loose I've seen it pop whilst stationary. Sorry Joe

That "of" is supposed to be some kind of jargon for "have", right? When you native speakers start doing that kinda thing as talking funny, we E2L speakers get quite confused :)

"Have" is correct, "of" is just wrong (sorry Berd! ;)). It's a common mistake a lot of English speakers make, even (perhaps especially?) those who speak it as their first language. It sounds like "of" when someone speaks quickly, and since most people learn it by hearing they can sometimes think it's "of" instead of "have".

By the way, for those who care, I now have a Google Doc with all my CMLLs on it.

Hey Louis, please post and let us know how you like the Fangshi Jieyun when you get yours. I've been looking for a new cube, and the jieyun seems interesting. Really curious to know what you think of it.

jieyun is smooth and not scratchy, corner cuts decently but no lock ups, fluid turning, corner twists don't happen, the grooves provide somewhat of a better grip although become non-noticeable after using it a lot, it's unpoppable unless at ridiculously loose tensions

also it has really nice and bright stock stickers

sorry for not being Louis but I actually have one and use it as my main

the M slices are really nice and fast also

Thanks. That helps. I tried a Fangshi before and was really disappointed. The caps on the corner pieces kept falling off, and in general, the quality of the cube was really poor. I swore never to buy a Fangshi again.

2 Questions:
1) Are the shades of the Blue and Orange the same as colors on Moyu cubes? I really like the Moyu color scheme.

2) Is the cube heavy-ish? I'm not a big fan of the lighter cubes coming out these days. I prefer cubes with some weight. How would you compare its weight?

jieyun is really high quality and has an intricate mechanism, it feels stable and sturdy and has fast turning, whereas the shuangren's I've tried are kinda flimsy

1) The shade of blue the Jieyun has is equivalent to Bright Blue on thecubicle, the orange is kinda like shengshou/dayan but a bit brighter, The green and yellow are brighter and the white is normal, the red is just a normal red

2) the cube has a little bit of weight to it but it's kinda light, the layers feel a bit 'thick' is the way to describe it I guess? you'd need to hold one to get what I'm saying

Um... how do you know I was getting one? Are you on the /r/cubers Discord chat? Even then I've only briefly mentioned it once.

... but aren't there on the 55mm version, I don't think, and that's what I'm getting. :)

Wait... really? What cube was it? I've never had any of these problems at all with my mini ShuangRen, which was my main for a year and a half. It was, and still is, the best cube I've ever used. I know the way the caps work on the 57mm is different, so that could be part of it.

You mentioned here on one of these threads, don't remember which one. But I read it recently.

And I had the latest version of the Shuangren 57mm and I despised that cube. It's the only cube I've tossed in the trash. Caps flew off every single solve and in general it was a piece of junk. Been using a modded Liying as my main for over 1 year, but the time has come for an upgrade :)

Oh yes, I completely forgot that!

Well I wouldn't have thought the 54.6mm and the 57mm would be so different. Weird.

Thanks for the grammar clarification. Regarding your CMLLs, I care, even though learning full CMLL is still in my TO DO list and will be there for some time. One question, on those CMLLs where you have 2 or even 3 algs, do you use all of them? And why? Maybe different EO flipping / preservation?

Yes, they're for different EO case. I do use all of them, thought I use the first alg for each case much more often than the others. They're mostly there for avoiding 6-flips, though I occasionally use them to solve EO.
When first learning CMLL, only learn one alg for each case. Learning multiple will just get confusing. Learning 2 or 3 should be saved for later.

Thanks, I will follow your advice. In fact I have been procrastinating on Roux for too many months already. I was obsessed with getting clearly below 20 sec average with CFOP before devoting a significant amount of practice to other methods but I'm having a hard time reaching that milestone so I might as well change my mind as I'm not getting close to 15 seconds or so with CFOP anytime soon.

I think Roux will be a bit easier to get sub-20 with, since you don't need fast turning. A while ago I recorded a sub-20 Ao5 with 2.67 TPS - that's equivalent to doing a T perm in 5.24 seconds! Of course I've been doing Roux for a while so you might need a few more moves, but if you turn quickly during CMLL then that won't matter. The downside is that you will have to practise quite a bit to get down to your original speed, but I think it's worth the switch. :)
