Priotization for Learning Stuff
Hi, I am currently having a lot of fun learning new stuff about speedcubing. Can someone maybe tell me what is the right prioritization for the following things. Note that eventually I will probably want to learn all of them, so my question is not "which one is useful" but "which one is most important".
- COLL
- summer/winter variation
- VHLS
- Choosing better OLL/PLL (I took most of them from badmephistos page and some friends told me that those ones are more optimized for ease of learning, but there are faster ones, also I still use 2 that a friend tought me 10 years ago that are rather slow and I don't know anyone except me who used them)
- Some edge control during the F2L.
- Maybe something else?
Maybe a few words about my current level: I recently reached sub 40, but I would say I am not a very typical speedcuber. I cannot turn fast (and practice doesn't help, I've been doing it for 10 years already) and I cannot think very fast. But the nice thing is, there are always different ways to get faster. I just get faster by learning more stuff. I will never get sub 10 or so, but even with slow turning and thinking, it is possible to get good times if you are very efficient. For example current project is to learn all F2L cases. I don't mean the 40 basic cases, I mean all special cases with empty slots or pieces in other slots etc. Other cubers with similar times can turn faster, but I get shorter algorithms, in the end, we reach the same goal. Most people learn full OLL when they are already averaging around 30, I used it to get sub 40 averages. Etc. And now I am looking for the next project.
