Strict roux vs. Anything goes roux

I know this may just be a matter of opinion but would it be better to strictly stick to each roux step exactly or would it be ok to have some variation (eg. In F2B if you see another 2x2x2 that is easy to make after the first 2x2x2, would it be better to use the block or just ignore it and continue with the original block)?

I am usually strict, but if I see something good, like the 2x2 for the second block while the first block is still not finished, I try to preserve it (or at least as much as I can. For example, a pair can be easily preserved in that situation).

I do sometimes do left 2x2 -> right 2x2 -> finish LB -> finish RB, but only on very easy scrambles when I can see that far in inspection. Usually it's better to just do normal Roux, since lookahead is easier.

I think I like roux more than cfop :p
but on which parts can I improve?

f2b: 7-10 sec
cmll: 2-3 (either 1look or 2look)
l6e: at least 10, sometimes even more, like 13,14..

I am having a hard time finding and matching the UR and UL edges, that takes me like 5 secs.... Tips on that?
also: is there a list for the EO cases for l6e?

I just watch the UL UR pieces during EO, it's easy to figure out EO cases intuitively and once you know what you need to do for EO, you can just focus on the UL UR edges. However, I'm pretty buns at Roux so someone else might have a different perspective.

LSE definately. By far. Compared to the rest of your steps it should be about 7 seconds or less. My splits are F2B <12, CMLL ~3 LSE ~6

With the matching the only real advice I can give is to track the pieces while you are orienting

Hi all,
I'm about to improve my Roux skills. Currently I use 2-look algorithms for last layer corners (from my CFOP set) and want to learn CMLL.
Can anybody please recommend

1. Good understandable table of CMLL cases (PDF would be a best)?
2. Order of learning them?

Thanks in advance.

I'm doing them as well my friend. I'm using algdb.net for the algs and learning them (O-Orientation skip) H, Pi, U, T, L, As, A.
Hope this helps

i personally hate CMLL tables. use waffo's video tutorials to learn how to recognize the cases, and use algdb for algs.

I used alg.db and also Andy Klise PDF thing. And also waffo's site. I went pretty much everywhere really, but those were all easy to understand. Plus waffo tells you how to recog.

Thank you for advices, I'll explore all these sites. Unfortunately, link to PDF from waffo's site is broken...

I wouldn't suggest all of Waffos algs though, at least from the videos because some of them are crap, learn the recognition from the videos then pick and choose your own algs from algdb.net for a wide selection of algs
