One-Answer WCA Competition and Regulations Question Thread

It is the March 12 Greeley Colorado comp, and I registered as soon as it opened, but my internet was not loading so i registered after it was completely filled, the deadline when it stopped was 35 minutes after it opened.
Also what do you mean by purchase?
Well, I should have said payment, not purchase. That was what I was referring too.

Looks like there's a couple cubers there, this thread is not entirely dead. I know Colorado and Utah have pretty solid cubing communities, so you at least have something only a state (or two) away.

It depends - for the comp happening in Denver tomorrow for example I think about 3-4 people were added from the waitlist from what I can tell. Sixth might be pushing it, but the good thing is Colorado has a great cubing community, so it’s likely there will be more competitions coming up in the next couple of months in the area.

It looks like the waitlist for Florida Spring 2022 A isn’t publicly available on the WCA website. For Northern Colorado 2022 it’s available in a tab on the competition page here:

Sir Antonius Jonius Telfordius,
I apologize to thee, but the chances of getting in are... how do we say it in Italian... nil. Nothing short of an act of Jupiter's lightning could cause it to happen.

...But seriously, when I finished registering for the competition, 22 people were in and it was 6:04 CST. When my sister got in, it was 6:11 CST, and she was 45th on the waitlist. Now, 5 days later, she's moved up to 43rd. Given that it's unlikely that someone will cancel their registration if they're top 5 on the waitlist or if they got in, the soonest I would expect you to get in would be February 27th. By then it's within 2 weeks of the competition, negating your standing on the waitlist since it's probably going to be refunded at the two-week mark anyway. Sorry, bud. 😕 :?

Now, don't let that get you discouraged, as there are likely going to be competitions available on both sides of Tornado Alley starting this summer. Until then, make sure to practice and keep on the lookout for new comps. ;)

Also, have I mentioned that the Competitions tab has weekly competitions in every event? It's a great way to motivate yourself to practice, even if there aren't many comps around you.

Hopefully, that helped. I know registering for your first competition can be such a letdown nowadays, but don't let that stop you. I hope your luck in registration goes better in the future! :D

I am also going to Pikes Peak Good Afternoon 2022
I am Anthony J Telford on the competitors list, It will be fun to see you there, who are you on the competitors list?
Keenanius Brucius. (Or in peasant-speak, Keenan Bruce.)
This is going to be my sister's first comp and she's going too; she's got the same last name.
