How do cube manufacturers supply black pieces for stickerless cubes to replace yellow?
What if there isn't a stickered version of that cube?
This is not 100% correct but I think that they may get an extra cube, take the pieces of of that and then spray paint them or coat them to black in a high-quality way.

Ah, I see. Thank you.

Edit:
So I contacted TC, and it seems they can only get black pieces from already stickered cubes. Does anyone have an idea on what dye might work?

They just make black pieces using the same mold using black plastic. As you later posted, you can use RitDye to dye the pieces but it is tricky to get a nice, even coloration over all the piece.

I meant retailers, my mistake. I've contacted moyu to see if I can get some, but if they don't have a way to get it I might try RitDye.

If you sand it properly before I think any Paint for plastics will last a long time. Problem of course is the different look and feel of the pieces(BLD Legal?)

Hey guys! So, I'm using a Moyu Meilong 3x3, and people told me that it's a very basic cube, and a lot of people recommended me to buy a magnetic cube. I'm thinking about the RS3M 2020 because it's kinda cheap from where I live (Brazil), despise costing more than 80 brazilian reais. Can magnets really significantly slow my time (ao5 32sec)?

Well, when you add magnets to a puzzle, the goal of it is to add stability. Meaning the puzzle has to be really fast and uncontrollable without magnets in the beginning.
Ex. of a cube good with/without magnets. A Moyu Weilong V1. vs. Moyu Weling WRM 2021. The original weilong didn't have any magnet technology, so it needed to be stable and a little slow due to the lack of magnets. The WRM is designed so that magnets are a necessity, and without them, the cube will not function normally.
Ex. of a cube that doesn't really need magnets: The Valk 3. The Valk is a relatively speedy puzzle that is really stable on it's own. Adding magnets to it only makes feel more stable, to a point that might even slow it down.
So, in some puzzles, the lack of magnets makes it incapable of it's true potential that later versions achieved, but other puzzles don't need magnets. Going back to your questions about whether magnets slow down your cube: in some cases, where they don't save the puzzle, yes. But in flagship puzzles that need them to achieve the speed that they deserve, no.
That RS3M will really help you out when speedsolving, allowing you to practice fingertricks that a budget puzzle would't be able to allow you to do.

Hello. I was just doing a 4x4 solve and got a lockup and this midge popped out. Is there any way I can tell where it needs to go so that I can only disassemble one layer or do I have to take the whole thing apart to find it? Thanksimage.jpg

You are able to turn very slowly and carefully to try and see, which turns are a bit weird. My WuQue didn't ever Pop but I tried that myself. Problem will be modern 4x4s could be too stable for a big difference in feel.

Since there are only 12 spots that the midge came out of, you just pull apart each middle section until you find the spot that it popped from. Then, you take out some wings and midges, and reassemble with the piece that you had pop out.

Which non-smartcube does the GAN 356i feel like? Is it for instance like a smart 356m or is it a whole cube on its own?
