NATHANAEL'S PROGRESSION THREAD, GOING FOR SUB 20 ON 3X3, sub-5 on 2x2 and more

I'm going to my first competition in a few weeks time. It is the Hong Kong Small Cube Day and the events in it are 3x3 and 2x2. I will be competing in both. https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/competitions/HongKongSmallCubeDay2023

Any tips on how to stay calm and relaxed? I'm already getting nervous about DNFs and stuff.
What has helped you?

Also, when in a competition do you get your name card or do you print it off at home? Also, how do you pick what events you want to compete in? (Sorry the registration has not started yet, but I don't want to go in blind.)

Thanks

You get your name card when registration is in at the competition. The organisers will give it to you

I've only been to one comp, but it was a ton of fun, so dont worry too much! As far as the name tags are concerned, the people at the comp will give them too you. And when you register, it'll give you a choice of events. As far as nerves are concerned, something that a judge told me at the comp (cuz I was very nervous too) was, when you sit down, before you tell the judge that you're ready, take a second to try and relax. This doesnt count to your inspection or solving time, so just try to calm down. idk if this will help, but that's an idea!
