You can try super-gluing the stem together.

upon further inspection I think it may be my edge pieces causing this issue. The fit of the 2 edges halves when put together leaves a lip on either side which seems to be what is catching on the corner seam.

Is this talk of the Moyu AoLong v2 being slower true? I know mine seems to be quite sluggish compared to my other cubes, but I don't have a v1 to compare. Perhaps mine is defective?

If i'm not mistaken, the first batch of v2s were made from a different plastic making them sluggish. However now they are selling ones with the plastic of the v1s. I think.

I just got my Moyu Aosu and the inner layers of the blue, white, green and yellow side catch and lock. I thought I had a misalignment problem and so I disassembled it and aligned everything but nothing changed. What should I do?

Broken Guhong

I just purchased a Dayan Guhong about 1 month ago. About 3 days ago, a had a pop. The entire orange face fell of. Now the orange face is prone to popping and is extremely fragile to turn. I took the pieces out and put it back, but still the same result. Any solution?

Possible Defective Moyu Aosu, Help?

My Moyu Aosu is a great cube, don't get me wrong, and it's no doubt the best on the market now. However, it doesn't live up to my expectations and I really think that there's something wrong with my cube. It's far better than my Shengshou 4x4, but it is not as good as people say in reviews.

The turning of the outer layers is very nice and smooth, but the inner layers are extremely sluggish and clicky. I hate doing the centers on this cube, because the inner layers feel so unpleasant. The grinding of the plastic is very obvious, and it becomes apparent when I'm trying to do solves.

Corner cutting on the outer layers is very good, almost at 45 degrees, and that's insane for a 4x4. Reverse isn't too great, but for a 4x4, it's pretty good. Once again however, I suffer the same problem with the inner layers. Inner layers can cut half of a piece at most, and reverse is little to none. Once again, I can't expect a 4x4 to have corner cutting as good as a 3x3 but I'm a little disappointed, especially seeing some reviews online.

The biggest problem I have with this cube are the pops. Reviews have said that his cube is "unpoppable", but my cube pops. A lot. The slightest misturn, and another turn with too much force, a pop happens. Usually, it's just a small internal piece that pops out, but I've had explosions too. It happens around every 10 in 100 solves, and can get really annoying sometime. I usually have relatively accurate turning, but with this cube, it seems as if the slightest misalignment will cause the cube to pop. In other words, if I corner cut too fast with too much force, the cube won't cut, but will explode on me.

I've checked the pieces to see if they are defective, but I honestly couldn't find any. The worst part is that I know this is not the true quality of a good Moyu Aosu, as I've tried one of my friend's Aosu and it was absolutely amazing. It was faster than mine, and didn't have any of those pops or explosions as I solved on it. I'm really not sure what's wrong with mine, and I'm kind of afraid to buy another one and get the same results. The only difference I can think of is that he got his from The Cubicle, but I got my from Cubezz. Not sure if that affects anything though.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it's been tensioned, lubed, fully broken in with at least a thousand solves. I can't seem to get it any better than it is now, but its still much worse than what I expect it to be.

im thinking your tensions may be too lose due to the popping, all cubes are pop-able when loose. this is the only thing i can really think of

I'm not too sure about that, after realizing how often it pops, I set my tensions very tight. This may be the main cause for its sluggishness, but even on looser tensions the cube still retains its unpleasant sluggish feel and it pops a lot more often.

If it comes down to it, I might have to ask them about it, yes. Perhaps I should buy another one? I just don't want to waste 30 dollars getting one that's just going to result in the same performance as this one.

That sounds very similar to the experience I had with my Aosu. It was very fast out of the box but popped all the time, especially during OLL parity... something about the combo of Rw and U moves made the inner layers come out of alignment and the small inner edge piece would pop.

To fix this... I basically tried to force a pop on every edge by doing rough style Rw U Rw' U over and over again. Every time I COULD cause the inner edge to come off track I'd tighten that U layer by like... an 1/8th of a turn. If it wouldn't pop no matter how crudely I turned, I moved on.

I did this all over the cube until I couldn't force a pop on any face at any angle. Then I lubed the crap out of his with low viscosity shock oil. That worked just fine for a while and the pops stopped. My turning ability was a little hindered by the tight tensions... and yes the cube was sluggish.

After a while, the cube was broken in more, and I was able to take the tensions out little by little on all sides. Also, as my own turning style gets more accurate, I can take the tensions past the popping point but still avoid them.

It takes some work, but a defective Aosu can still be a great 4x4. Hope that helps.

When I first got mine the inner layers were just horrible; very clicky, and the cube felt like it was about to break apart whenever I turned them. I noticed that the issue was only happening in one of the three axes so I suspected something was misaligned. Turns out that one of the bumps used to keep the core aligned was placed between two center pieces and was bumping with them whenever I turned that axis. All I had to do was loosen the screw and rotate the bump about 45 degrees. After doing that the cube immediately started performing great.

I had a problem very similar to this with my 4x4 Aosu as well. If i remember correctly, it was because an inner piece had rotated.

It also made the inner layers when turning in a particular axis, pop very easily, and be difficult to turn/ grindy.

I don't think it's a problem with the tensioning.

Yes, this sounds very similar to the performance of my cube. I can try it out, see if I can make it work though.

Zhanchi pieces not fitting together

Hi I have a problem with my 2 zhanchi I own
My old zhanchi has only 500 solves on it
and the other (my main) has at least 5,000 solves on it

my old zhanchi has a full bright set on it
and I wanted to try the fluro green on my main
so i thought i could just swap the approrpate edge halves and corner pieces between the cubes

Prolem is the edges won't go together no matter how hard i try
the corners go together fine but the edges just aren't going together

Is this because my main is so much more brokem in?
