I'm having a similar problem with my DaYan 2x2. I disassembled it to lube it and it took me ages to finally get it back together, but when I did it turned like ****. I think I assembled it correctly... I put the 3 edges with hooks around one corner, but it's terrible. What can I do?

Define terrible.
Too slow? Too clicky?

I think it's possible for you to bend the centerpiece such that it's scratching the screw. This happens when you try to assemble it without tensioning it correctly because the 2x2 is already under a lot of stress in the first place.

Yes, and I think I still have this problem because I simply cannot find a good tension for every side. Do you have any advice on how to do so?

I just take everything out, and when I screw it in, I make sure that all the washers are oriented the same way, and just screw in the screw a number of revolutions. When you fine tune it, make sure you adjust each side a set number of rotations.

There are no washers. When I disassemble the cube should I replace the hardware with Dayan hardware?

If your lingpo is missing washers, I suggest you buy some ASAP.

And tighten your cube.

Zhanchi unstable?

Hello guys,

I bought a Zhanchi a few months ago, this cube do feel great but it needed a bit more speed so I lubed it with lubix and crazybad video. I did that ~1.5 month ago and let me tell you the cube feel strange now. It is faster but still too "heavy" when I turn it. When I push the speed a bit it feel very unstable, not the uncontrollable kind of unstable, feels like it will collapse instead. Obviously I thought it needed some more tension, I tryed 1 full turn. With more tension it does feel more stable but it feels even heavier and it lock non stop. I tryed to find some kind of sweet spot between unstable and heavy, some kind of balance. I found some kind of compromise, I guess..., but it is terribly far from the other zhanchi I see on youtube, it's day and night compared to mine to be honest. My cube is holding my progression now, I feel I can cut at least few more seconds but my finger feels numb too fast because i'm fighting with my cube instead of solving it.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide :)

Dayan ZhanChi DIY issue

I've heard how great the ZhanChis are so I decided to buy my first DIY kit and build it and go from there. I have had an issue with the corners not fitting together properly. It seems that the corner "stems" have gaps at the bottom. Am I doing something wrong or is this a common problem?

Enclosed an image to show the issue. image.jpg

I got the same with my DIY Zhanchi, but it works fine for me. You can just assemble it and it will probably work fine.
