My YLM had an extreme stripping problem, the screw would almost completely fall out every solve. I hope I can get my hands on the MGC squan soon.

Is it normal for the Yuxin Little Magic Square-1 to have almost no cornercutting? Even if I tension it unreasonably loose it still only cornercuts a teeny bit and even then it struggles.
I do have a YLM sq-1 and its quite better than my previous Calvin's sq-1 which I got in 2014.

I am not a very fast sq-1 solver (30-40 second average), no cornercutting factor does not affect me that much!

My MoYu Liying cube is dud. I used it since 2015, it is a smaller cube, and was very good at that time.

I used it in MBLD, after it became replaced by MoYu Tanglong by me in 2016. Now, the Liying cube is unusable and a dud, M' D' F' M2 U M' U' M' F D M.

Mine doesn't really either but since I have no other Squans I can't really compare
I think the issue is the complete lack of flexibility in the vertically which is what's needed to cornercut. The only flexibility is laterally through the slice layer and that's not much either. If a squan mechanism could give the top and bottom layers flexibility, the corner cutting would dramatically be improved.

you can try to mod it.

Try the mod where you cut off the top of the dome. It has a noticeable difference. The other mods are a little too much work for the small benefit they provide.

So today I decided to setup my cube again. I tensioned it, lubed it, and then tried to adjust the spring compression setting. This is where problems arose. I saw black goo on the the tool. Like black goo. I'll upload a picture so you know what I'm talking about. I just want to know how this happened I how I can remove it. Anyone else with this issue? Please let me know what you did to remove it.

Don’t know, this was not the case a couple weeks ago when I last cleaned it.
Screws getting bent by tightening the cube?

Screws are of good quality nowadays yo.
Edit: I got this cube in November, do you think tc will still send me a new screw?

i will try and straighten it...
Later I will also go to Lowe’s and check if they have something similar
I don’t know how this could happen in the first place...

Edit number 2:
I managed to straighten it with a clamp and it works now. Still don't know how it happened tho.
