[Help Thread] Finger Tricks Discussion and Help

I use both left and and right double flick on R perms.

For R' U2 R U2' R' F R U R' U' R' F' this would be first with right, then with left.
During the left handed U2 you can position your right hand properly for he R' F etc bit

I use it, and yes, it is worth it. I have the same problem, but just practice gripping and the problem should go away.

Off Topic: Getting my LingYun today!!! For some reason my signature was required for the package and I wansn't home so they left a small slip that said I had to pick it up at the post office. So I go there and they say that it won't be in till tomorrow(today now), but I didn't want to go down to the post office again so I just signed the slip and they said they would drop it off at my house. Now I just have to wait for school to end so I can leave, go home, and get my new LingYun!!

I have stopped using double-flicks for certain algs precisely because of the re-grip issue. My U-Perms, for example, look like this: M2 U M U U M' U M2 You'd be surprised how fast you can execute two single U's.

For the R-Perm, I finger-push the first U2 and finger-pull the second, no re-grips.

Another option is to double-flick the first U2, and for the 2nd (U2'), use your thumb for the first U' and your left index finger for the second. Combined, they are as good as any double-flick.

I'd use the double flick for the first and the eido U2' for the second.

I do it as less of a flick though, more controlled imo.

Grip the bottom two layers tightly with your thumb and ring fingers, do U or U' with your index finger depending on the hand you're using, and your middle finger following closely behind. Basically what the others have described above.

It feels like the most unnatural thing when I try a double flick with my left hand. No problem with my right hand.. if I practiced, at all, it would be better.

I think I've been doing U2 wrong for four years... I do U with right index then U with right middle finger. U'2 is the mirror, but it's awkward so I mostly use U2 instead. Is the fingertrick you're talking about "grab LBU corner on L sticker" and if so do you use index or middle finger more?

This probably explains my slow last layer times.

maybe you can do the second U2 as a pull like a sune fingertrick? if you are comfortable with it, you can easily do the beginning much like sune fingertrick and it finishes nicely into the FRUR'U'R'F'R2

I regrip at the begining then I'm ready for u2
The second one I do U2' as stated by others. I do the first U' with my right thumb an the second with my left index finger.

I don't use the U2 and I can get that algorithm in 2.3 sec. which I guess is slow for people who do effectively use the double flick. I probably should practice on the U2 as well.

that's not better than double flicks imo. dunno if it was a joke vid or what, but the regrip caused by the weird index U2 at the beginning eats time.

Finger Trick help

I wanted to see if anyone could help me with being able to do the finger tricks for speedcubing. Any and all tips are appreciated. Thanks!

Finger Tricks, Turning The Middle And Bottom Layer

For the bottom layer, is it better to turn it using the middle finger, or the ring finger?
Also, does anyone even turn the middle layer when speed cubing?
