Also I was thinking for the adj swap on bottom case, such as the R' T perm R2 or R' J perm R2, it can be converted to a diag-adj swap using R2 F2 R2 like Anti-CLL.

For example: layer on top, bottom bar in front: R2 F2 U' R2 U R2 U' R2 U R2
layer on top: bottom bar in back: R2 B2 U' R2 U R2 U' R2 U R2

Idk if these are known but it might be faster to execute than the entire T perm or J perm?
Wow, these algs are consistently faster than R’ T perm R2 for me. Plus it saves you from doing an awkward D move (if you get it from the front or back angle). This is the first time I’ve come across these algs, although I’m sure they’ve been shared somewhere before. I’m kinda surprised that these aren’t commonly known and shared in tutorials though.

Instead of T perm I use J perm but same idea. But the D move is always awkward.

I noticed you can also leave the R2 F2 R2 or R2 B2 R2 at the end too. This gives another case:

layer on top, bar on right: R2 U' R2 U R2 U' R2 U F2 R2

You can also swap U and U' in the PBL algs. I tried experimenting with putting the R2 F2 R2 in different parts of the alg. Idk any good alg for bar on left. Here's experiments

F2 R2 U' R2 U R2 U' F2 U R2

Obviously you can just mirror the bar on right alg as L2 U L2 U' L2 U L2 U' F2 L2 if you're good at L moves. I guess you could do
z U2 R U2 R' U2 R U2 R' F2 U2 but that just seems stupid.

I think the reason no one cares about these algs is because everyone moves on from Ortega to CLL where you always have a completed layer on bottom.

I think the optimal "T Perm" alg for 2x2 is R' F R F' R U2' R' U R U2 R', this can be modified to be done on the D layer by making the first and last R' moves to R moves

wouldn't that involve D moves? or were those translated into equivalent U moves? Idk I didn't check
Do the alg then see what it does. It swaps 2 adjacent corners on the D layer.

I think that the alg I posted (or maybe qwr's) are better.

Switching to a magnetic cube didn't help for the first sub 2 average. If the problem is your TPS, unless your hardware sucks, you just have to practice. Drill algs and keep on drilling and solving.
well I switch what cube I use every session (little magic / chuwen / xinghen / valk)
is that bad for muscle memory? I assume so. I think I got better times when I stuck with one cube for a few sessions. I average nearly about 6.1 with little magic and 6.5 with chuwen.

idk I just can't turn as well on some 2x2s. I haven't figured out why yet. I think it's because I'm used to the speed of my little magic 2x2.

Here are Kociemba's 2x2 solver move optimal algs (no AUF) and my current alg. Basically the move optimal ones kinda suck.

Opp adj cases: move optimal algs all kinda awkward to fingertrick.

CaseMy current algMove optimal alg
bar bottom leftR2 U' R2 U R2 U' R2 U R2F R' U F2 U' R F'
bar bottom backR D' R B2 R' D R'R U' F U2 F' U R'
bar bottom rightD R D' R B2 R' D R'F U' R F2 R' F R'
bar bottom frontR' D R' F2 R D' RR U' F U2 F' U R'

Adj cases in bottom layer: (there's a lot of possibilities) interesting but idk if I would use them.

Is there a solver that can assign weights to moves? R and U moves get lowest weight and all other moves get higher weight. It would be even better if certain triggers get lower weight than the sum of their moves.

how to solve layer (or face)? I'm terrible at scrambles like this

R U R2 F U' R2 U' R2 U'? apparently solving yellow makes it work but I didn't see it

are you sure 1. is written correctly? I couldn't figure out how to do it
These are nice solutions. I guess I should've asked for how to make layers for CLL
