well, before going, let me ask you all a question:

when you do step 1, 2x2x3 block, do you try to build the block behind the cube?? like doing cross on the botton. i´ve tried it, and i find it harder, but, then recognition of EO becomes easier, and i do less cube rotations, then i can look ahead better.

opinions?

Lookahead on EO isn't much of an advantage for me, I think building it in the back would just be awkward. Usually I either build it at UFL or DFL, whatever is most ergonomic.

nnononono don't lock in a position that you solve your blocks in. It hinders your ability to solve from other angles, use finger friendly solutions all of the time, and even raises your movecount as you're more apt to avoid certain moves in that locked grip. One thing that I have been doing lately that's a little tiny thing for EO recognition, is when I go to join the 2x2x3, I'll actually rotate for EO before I "insert the pair" if I made one, or just rotate before finishing the R/L or R2/L2, that way I get like an extra half a second or so to look for bad edges. Some possible cases you can do this with would be R' U R, L U' L', R, L, R2, L2, F' R2, F2 R2, etc. (These are all solutions to finish 2x2x3 with the cube oriented for EO. Do the inverse to setup the "case" if you can't see what I'm talking about in your mind.)

This also gives you a chance to do something I should probably do since I've started to incorporate it, which is to fix bad edges with the last move of the 2x2x3 videos. EJ touches on the subject in some video I can't recall the name of off the top of my head.

TLDR; I like to finish like that , just make sure you're capable of solving blocks from multiple angles.

You can do K4 start (opp centers, 1x3x4 block, centers), fill in DF and DB you can 2 pair here so you have 7 and only have to pair 5 more
you can then pair edges while solving EO and then deal with Parity here.
2-3 and then EO+parity.
or a variety of other variants.

I see no advantage. You have to find and solve specific edges, so the pause is after centres, rather than after edges. Solving edges with the 3x3x3 block would be annoying as well. Just stick with redux then Petrus, no need to overcomplicate.

I completely see your points. (and agree with them)
after 3x3x4 block lookahead for edges is really easy.

So I did like a really botched, half assed attempt at some first person, kinda slow, example solves I guess you could call em. I don't explain any of my blocks but it sort of shows what my solves look like, the rotations I use n stuffz. I think I'll use the site exclusively for things like this in the future.

(lol it's so bad)

But same with Yau. And people still use it.

Not really. Pairing the edges of the Yau cross has an advantage, it can be done in less moves since you don't have to worry about edges. With your method you would have to us the same edge pairing system, just on specific edges. Then you'd have to place the edges. Then solve with a 3x3x3 restricting you, rather than a cross.

By the way, I got a 17.19 AO5 on cam with Petrus today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUfElsa8IYI not as sexy as Sn3kyPanda's, of course. Please don't laugh at my 2x2x3 extensions.
