I lost that little metal nut that the screw goes in inside the core. It's a shame since I really loved the cube. Can I buy specific core pieces anywhere?

in cubicle or speedcubeshop or any other cubing store, they might have spares which you can buy for.

My ylm square 1 has a stripped core. I have to tighten it after every 5 solves. How to solve this problem? Wrapping a piece of plastic around the screw does not work.

This piece just fell out of my 4x4 cube. It locked up while turning, and then it came out. Now one of my edge pieces is really loose, and I don't know how to get the piece back in. It is kind of freaking me out. What do I do?View attachment 14355
Pop out the edge pieces and then put the piece that popped back in and then put the edges back in. You may need to loosen the side first.

How do I know if a core is stripped? I was trying to tension my MGC 7x7 and one of the sides wouldn't tighten very well. I tried turning the puzzle to make sure all the sides were at the same tension and something locked up. I tried turning through it and the yellow screw just flew out and the cube exploded. BTW the tensions were extremely tight when I was doing this. Is it stripped and if so do I need to replace the core, screw, or both? (The screw doesn't turn when I turn the yellow side but I'm still concerned if the screw can still pop out the way it did before)

I have a gift card that I would like to use to get a speedcube. I honestly just want a good 3x3 main. I am torn between many choices though. Which one do you recommend? I just do not want a very expensive cube, and also....NO GAN CUBES.

So maybe a....

  • GuHong V4 - I think @Owen Morrison recommends this.
  • MoYu RS3 M 2020 - I have heard that this is a pretty good cube.
  • QiYi MS - This might be a good cube but I think there are better.
  • DaYan TengYun Magnetic 3x3 V2 - I don't know much about this cube but maybe it is good?
  • MoYu WeiLong GTS2 M 3x3 - I don't know much about this cube either, but it has pretty good reviews.
  • Or any other speed cube that I have not listed that you like, please tell me about it! I would love to know about them! excluding gans.

I haven't used the Guhong v4 yet but have used the others. Personally, I would recommend the RS3M 2020 - with additional magnets. You can get a $1 magnet kit from The Cubicle to take care of that or order the plus version that comes with them pre-installed.

The Guhong V4 is EXTREMELY GOOD.
  • Fast
  • Buttery
  • Effortless corner cutting
  • Lightweight
  • Stable
  • SIMPLE SPRING AND SCREW! Personally I love simplicity.
It's basically a Tengyun except more stable!

Yep I would recommend the Guhong v4, however, I think you will be happy with either that or the RS3M2020.

Which is better OOTB and do you think the RS3M has any advantages over the Guhong? (excluding it being $5 cheaper)
The Guhong is almost perfect out of the box, it just needs a little tightening. I also put some weight 5 to bring down the insane speed a notch, but interestingly enough it didn't make the cube feel that much smoother, because it was already insanely smooth lol!

On the other hand, the RS2M 2020 does take a considerable amount of setup to be good.
  1. add magnets
  2. lube springs/screws to eliminate loud spring noise
  3. lube pieces because the cube is very dry
For me personally, the Guhong V4 is better in every way to the RS3M 2020, except the dual adjustment system. But I think the spring stength of the Guhong is already perfect, so it doesn't really matter.
