One-Answer WCA Competition and Regulations Question Thread

My MGC elite logo was engraved. The ink itself has scratched off, but the dent is still there. Is this okay for BLD ?

So, if a person were to organize a competition, first, where do they get the timers and mats? Second, where does the money come from to reserve a venue?
Probably a local cubing organisation, e.g. the UK has UKCA supporting Guildford Open 2020. As for the venue cost, competitor fees, same organisation as before, WCA, organiser pool money, etc.

The equipment tends to be provided by the local delegate, cubing club (if there is either), or if you are flying a delegate out then they can bring the timers/displays with them.

For the cost of the venue, most of the time it is recovered from the registration fees, so even if you put out a $200-800 deposit to reserve the venue, you can reimburse yourself (or whoever paid for the deposit) after the registrations fees start to come in.

Depending on where you are the delegate you use should be able to help you with that all.

The delegate provides the equipment. For the venue, it depends. Some areas can front the venue money from saved funds, others need the organizer to pay and then get reimbursed.

Today, I took my cube to school and after I took it out of my bag it was scratched, and there are lots of black and grey markings on the white side. Is this comp legal, and how can I clean it off? Thanks

Keep rubbing it repeatedly, any idea what caused the marks? Most substances wear off after being repeatedly rubbed. I got ink on my GTS2M once, I got a towel, and rubbed it repeatedly for a bit, worked.
