Hey, so here's my breakup of solving times:
FB: ~15 sec
SB: ~12 secs
CMLL: ~7 secs
LSE: ~15 secs

how is this? ive been using roux as my main for about 2 days now ,but have been able to solve like 5 minutes with it for like 3 weeks
First block for sure. Try planing out the whole square in inspection.

Okay, here are my splits:

FB: 6
SB: 8
2look CMLL: 3 (4 if i have to do a T/Y perm)
LSE: 5

What should I work on?

Isn't that 5/6 of the time?

FB looks slowest. Try to make sure you can at least plan the first square in inspection, and maybe use this block trainer to help learn some more efficient solutions for some cases.

Sometimes. I've gotten okay at figuring out what PLL i'll have to do after orienting the corners (what do you call these, by the way? COLL/POLL?), so sometimes I can go right into the permutation. I timed a chemeleon case and got 3, then rescrambled CLL using <R,U,F> and tried again and got a 4.

How many moves on average should FB be?

Around what times should I aim for for FB and SB?

Ideally 8-9 that you can fingertrick nicely though less if possible.

Odd, I usually get around 8-9 moves decently fingertrickable, but I'm still rather slow with FB... should I try and increase TPS or something?

I see the whole block during the inspection, but I just sort of... question whether or not I got it right sometimes, so I end up slowing down. The moves also vary from solve to solve, so I find it difficult to memorize long series of them/execute them quickly.

Learn to solve FB BLD. First giving yourself as much inspection time as you need then reduce it down to WCA inspection time gradually.

Anyone have any ideas for FB with this scramble? I found it insanely frustrating (i'm x2/y with white/yellow on top), as the prebuilt pairs don't work at all well with the other pieces of their respective potential first blocks. Line based approaches don't seem to work too well either, and there's literally no other attached DR edges to be seen.

My attempt:
l' F D2 B2 U' B'
Could fingertrick more nicely but DR is in a nice place

y2 x' r' U f2 U2 (x U') B // Orange-white-blue square was 3 moves, then I got lucky with the rest of the block also being 3 moves.

y' x' F R2 U' B D' U x U2 R U2 x' // 5 moves for the square using the other pre-made pair. It's a bit long but easy to fingertrick. Four moves to finish the block.

E: Using JARCS, 5 move FBs:
U F' R2 B L
L2 U L F' R2 / U F' R2 D' B2 / U F' R2 U' L2

6 move FBs:
L' B2 F U L' D
U' B' D L2 U2 R2
R' D B2 U2 F' U
R' L D B2 L2 B' // 5 moves using M' instead of R' L

Starting to get back into Roux solving; CFOP is getting boring again

Here's something silly:

102. 14.22 U R' B2 R L' F' U' B L' D F2 R2 F' R2 U2 F' U2 L2 B' D2 F'

x y2
R U r F' M' U2 B
r U R U' R U' M U2 M2 U2 R U' R2 U R U' R' U r
U F R U' R' U' R U R' F'
U M U M' U2 (lol)

I decided to use a pcms-roux hybrid.

I am doing f2b and cmll instead of making four f2l pairs and cmsll, so I don't need to use y rotations to fill In the center pairs.
Then, I am going to set down the bd edge and do l5eop, since I feel like I can get faster times with it instead of lse.

Does this sound efficient, and can it work?
