[Help Thread] ZZ and ZB Discussion

Yeah, T and U are easily the easiest.

I thought this was likely the case, as many people seem to start with those sets.

Maybe I'll learn the 12 algs for one particular COLL case, to get a feel for how hard it is to learn ZBLL, and also so I can feel very pro whenever that COLL case happens to come up. :p

whats the advantage od coll/epll over ocll/pll i came from cfop so my pll times are decent so why should i learn 40 new algs it dosent make sence to me if i want to learn more algs cls and wv and sv are there so why dosent everyone use ocll/pll

COLL and EPLL is much better for onehanded, execution wise.
You have a much higher chance of skipping EPLL than PLL.
COLL+EPLL are fewer Algs overall than OCLL+PLL
If you use M-Slice EPLLs and you drill them, it's even generally faster than OCLL + PLL on full step solves.
Most of the time you can easily predict the EPLL case from the COLL, because there are much fewer cases.
COLL is generally a useful alg set to learn and can be applied to 2x2, substituting CLL until you learn better algs or CMLL for Roux.

Hope i could help you.

Btw, it's spelled "sense".

also color neutral im thinking of x2 y2 as thats pretty easy how hard is full y and full x

Personally, I think it is harder to switch to full x because the edges will be harder to automatically do for the U and D faces (so yellow and white for me) because each would be different colours though I may be biased as I am x2 y on virtually all the methods I do.

x2 y2 with ZZ isn't that good imo. That gives you 4 starting orientations, but only 2 EO-lines (cuz same 2 edges), and only 1 EO (Y2 wouldn't give a different EO, neither would X2). I would say full y is the best. Then you have 2 different EOs, 2 different lines, and it's not very hard because blue to green is just a different execution angle and same with red to orange (so in effect you only need to learn 1 new colour).

Hello.

I am new to ZZ (one week) and I already love it.
I am having a bit of trouble with my EOLine, when it's 2,4 and 8 unoriented edges it's fine but 6 is giving me a lot of trouble. Also, it seems I can't predict where my DF/DB edges are going to end after EO.

I have timed myself and my EOLine it's ~ 8-10s

I hope you can help me.

For six edges most of the time you have a face with three bad edges on it. (If you have four just put it in the back and just do a B/B' and do the two edges separately) On the face with three bad edges look at the good edge on it and the other three bad edges and treat it as a case of four bad edges. There's some other tricks you can do but you'll probably figure them out eventually. If you want to grind 6 bad edges you can use zztimer.

For predicting your line edges my recommendation is to be x2 neutral (you don't have to but it makes it easier). There is a good chance that when you flip the bad edges one of your line edges will be on it. It should be pretty easy to track that edge. If you are just starting you can just wing it and hope you can find the other edge fast or you can predict the general area where the other edge will be.

Sorry if this is confusing. Just ask if you want me to reexplain it.

what last layer method do you use i like the idea of mgls but is it a viable method or should i just stick with coll
