[Help Thread] Colour Neutral Discussion and Help

for me, those two seconds come from f2b, cmll and lse is about the same speed.

Same. Cmll I can even recognize on blue, red, green, and orange cuz 2x2, lse is the same, but you have to remember than the A'M'F is white top. My first block is still sub 2.5 because i plan it in inspection. But second block is terrible like at least 10 seconds. Finding dl edge piece takes me a good 2-3 seconds.

I think I'm finally fully color neutral now- did a 15.93 ao100 fully color neutral which is only about half a second slower than my non-color neutral average. My L10P suffers a little bit I think but I also get a lot more really lucky and easy first blocks so I had a lot more sub 13.5 singles than usual.

Is there anyone out there who feels they are color neutral, but prefers to stick to one color for timed solves (for best recognition, inspection time ,etc.)?

I believe this is what Cubeologist does, although he might not consider himself fully color neutral.

Best recognition, no
Inspection time , yes but I know the more I do it, the better I will get at it.
btw, got my first CN ao12 without any solves more than 20 seconds :D and a 18.01 ao50

color neutral?

as the thread title says is there any help to get better at being color neutral? of course theres practice and youll get it. but is there a method to get it down? instead of just jumping right in and going in see that there that looks good and GO!! lol i would like it if anyone has any tips on becoming color nuetral that would be great

If you stick to one color in order to have better recognition, you are by definition not color neutral. So no, there is nobody out there who is color neutral but sticks to one color. Not only does the act of sticking to one color constitute a color bias, but you would improve more at the color you were sticking to than you would with the others, meaning that you would become better at that color than others even if you weren't already. Anyone who sticks to one color does not fit the definition of CN, for more than one reason.

Doing F2L-only solves on the colors you're worst at, as well as solves with slow turning, both might help a little. I think it mostly does just come down to practice, though.

honestly, people say also say cube whenever you want.

so i just trolled with colour neutral for a while and then now im used to colour neutral.

maybe like once a week try doing colour neutral than twice a week. or u might wanna do the complete opposite, full week colour neurtal then 6 days colour neutral and then you'll see how much easier it is.

i just trolled around though.

i just finish the method for being cn and i end up with that the earlier you do it the easier one moth ago i was averaging like 30-32 with white and as i started color neutral ive broken all of my pbs and im working on being sub 20 cn and my personal best was 14.90 with cn so if you start before you get sub 20 which is one of the most difficult stages to break because of look ahead it will be easierbecuase youll learn look ahead in cn so youll get faster at the same time youre learning color neutrality so i think it was a complet succesful for me ;)
