Sometimes when I see a sub 4 move block with yellow bottom, I do non matching blocks with white on bottom, and I get decent 14s times.

non matching is just too hard on recognition for me, i don't think i'll ever implement it in my solves.

NM only seems useful for FMC (Roux FMC is hard to do though). In a speedsolve I'm just prepared to do regular blocks and don't want to waste time looking for an efficient NM block. Others might disagree though.

I find it pretty easy to do non matching blocks. I'd do it in speedsolves if not for that problem with corner alg recognition.

Lol nice. Y/Y'/Y2 is enough for me. Its PenguinsDontFly, just like my name, but I dont have anything on it

Like the other guy said, it would be nice to see some videos from you. Honestly, nothing against you, but I do have some doubts. It shouldn't be hard at all to film a random average of 12. Takes what?...maybe 6 minutes tops.

I will record some solves tomorrow. Dont worry about my progress and how 'questionable' it may seem.

Know a good way to practice these specifically?

Yes, do Untimed and Timed solves. At your speed, you don't need specific practice, you need overall practice. Every step can improve, so doing solves is the best way. Your fingers will get faster the more you solve, and your lookahead will improve too.

Timed Solves - Obvious, use a timer and follow the scrambles (don't just hand scramble) Doing scrambles will also improve your finger dexterity. Solve as fast as you can. For me, I could usually do about an hour of these a day when I was starting up.

Untimed Solves - Hand scramble, and look at the cube, inspect as long as you want. Think about how the blocks come together. Think about different ways to assemble the blocks. When you get to CMLL, think about your hand movements and see if you can improve the ergonomic efficiency of your hand movements.

Watching walkthrough solve videos is also a great way to learn new things, but I feel like 90% of what I know came from my untimed solves and experimentation.

Just my opinion on things though, some people do focused practice and have success, so who really knows? It's whatever works best for you.

So did you have a chance to record an average? Or are you finding it difficult to capture a good average that fits with your story ;)

What's wrong with you? You don't need to pester him about recording averages because you think he is making false claims. Sure, you can have your own opinion, but don't say stuff like that.

How dare you suggest that I am pestering him. It was another user that first suggested he video record and I merely agreed. Your comment is both rude and insulting. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I think everyone keeps recording til they get a good average. My bad ao 12 are all still sub 15, but 60 percent of them are sub 13.7, with a few sub 13 ao 12 when Im doing well. I havent recorded anything yet for 2 reasons: first, I dont have a good camera with a tripod or even a good way to record since my desk is pretty small, and second, I dont feel comfortable uploading anything to youtube. You will see that I am legit once I post my wca profile (when I make one and when I find a freakin comp near me)

Just so you know, if you upload a video you can keep it private so that only the people you give the link to can share it. But of course, whenever you're ready.

Is that unlisted? Because I cant figure out how to share private vids. I trust all you guys and
all the cubing community, since we are mostly teenage guys and are supportive, but not the general public. If i dont end up uploading a vid, then just be kind enough to trust that i am sub 15, sub 14, and working on more sub 13 ao 12 and 100's.

It might be unlisted. Like I said before though, it's probably only us who will look at the video if you post it here. It also won't show up on your channel.
