[Help Thread] What method should I use?

isnt that for 4x4?

If you know what a k4 solve looked like (I assume you don't and there is no judgement on that) you would know you can apply it to a 3x3.
To sum it up, you basically build a layer and solve centers... then use the "M slice" to solve the edges for the F3L then solve corners and finally use commutators to solve the last layer edges.

Actually a smooth rubik's cube in china cost around $10 which is around $1-2 US/Canadian

I personally don't trust lightake... I have heard many stories of orders getting lost... And even if the orders go through, it takes over a week for the cube to get there...

If you don't trust them (they ARE cheap, I personally just don't want to take chances), you ccan also order better cubes from icubemart.com, cubedepotusa.com, or speedcubeshop.com

nice I still have a problem sorry but is that normal as I said my average is 2minutes now i tried the intuitive f2l it changed to 5minutes lol is that normal or should be like 4minutes??

I don't know of any order that was lost... the cube always gets to where its going... it just takes a while (there may be some mishaps but it always gets there.)

Yeh... I don't recommend timing yourself in the beginning until you get a good flow going.

I'am a intermediate cuber and I'am just starting to soove 2x2x2 cube i want to be sub 5 or sub 4 but i don't know which method should i use!Ortega,Cll or others?

Ortega first, since it has only ~12 algs which will get you a 5-6 second average
Then move on to CLL which is 42 algs, which will get you a 3-4 second average
Finally EG1/EG2 and some advanced 2x2 method

Ok let me start this out by saying I'm totally new to cubing I've watched the cubing community for a while now but never actually solved recently I picked up a 2 by 2 and 3 by 3. And have been solving them religiously since averaging 30 seconds on 2 by 2 and 1:25 on 3 by (I'm bad I know no need to tell me). But I would like to learn how to solve 4 by 4 probably using a app then get the real thing. But looking up 4 by 4 methods they all do reduction which just seems inefficient to me I was wondering if there are any methods which don't have a so called 3 by 3 stage

There are, K4 is one.

But just use Yau, it's what most people use (for 4x4). It's better than reduction.

If reduction was so inefficient would people use it? Reduction is used for all big cubes by the vast majority.

Yau is a slightly modified reduction. You solve three cross edges after the first two centers. Solve the remaining the centers without breaking up the cross edges. the last cross edge. Then finish the remaining edges, and then solve like a 3x3 with a solved cross.

There is also Hoya.

I meant inefficient for a 4 by 4 obviously for higher layered
Layered puzzles it's basically the only method lol. But anyway so if k4 is one could you either give me a brief overview or point me in the right direction for a tutorial. It's fine if you can't

Reduction is definitely not inefficient for 4x4, k4 is not used for a reason
Oh if you say so I won't argue with the wisdom of those who are undeniably faster and more knowledgeable than me off to learn reduction
