I'm sorry, how can a COLL algorithm be faster than a CMLL if technically every COLL is a CMLL at the same time by definition? I mean, if I look at my CMLL table, lots of algorithms leave F2L and edge orientation, hence they are COLLs. But it is a CMLL table. Am I missing something?

You're right, a lot of CMLLs that people use are COLL. I think waffle's saying that using a shorter CMLL alg that isn't COLL isn't necessarily faster if it's more difficult/slower to execute.

True, but since speed is prefered over length, if a (shorter in length) CMLL is slower than the COLL version, I throw out the CMLL and call the COLL my new CMLL.
(On the other hand, I admit that keeping both can be useful for EO control.)

Could anyone analyze and give some tips on this solve? I average about 17-18 seconds.

Scramble: B2 L F2 L2 D2 F2 L' F2 L F2 L2 D F R B' D U' B' U2 L'

INSPECTION: y'
FB(Blue block): R' U' R U' B F U' F r' F (meh...really inefficient)
SB(Green block): U R' U2 R r U R' U2 R' U R U' R' U R
CMLL: (U2) R U R' U' R' F R F'
LSE: U M2 U' M' U M' U2 M' U2 M' U2 M2 U' M2 U2 M U2 M

I could be wrong, but I didnt see anyone post it so I will. This is a 6 move FB

inspection y'
FB: U B' M' F' r B'
SB: M' U' R' U' R2 U' R' U' R' U R' U' R U R' U R U' R'
CMLL: r U' L' U R' U' L
LSE: U2 M' U M U M' U M' U M2 U' M2 U M U2 M

Here's my solution from a speed solve; This is actually the first time I've done the second block like that

Scramble: B2 L F2 L2 D2 F2 L' F2 L F2 L2 D F R B' D U' B' U2 L'
y
FB: U2 B R' r' F R2 U2 B2
SB:R U M' U r2 U' r U B' R' B
CMLL: R' F2 R U2 R U2 R' F2 R U2 R'
LSE: M' U M' U' M' U' M U' M' U M' U2 M U E2 M' E2 M'
Moves: 48
Time: 12.83
TPS: 3.74

I'm new to SpeedSolving forum. I just registered today and this is my first post. :)

I started speedcubing 3 months ago and I'm practicing Roux for the past two months and my AO100 is 28.66 with PB of 15.68(Lucky) and 21.64 (Non Lucky).

My splits are 17 seconds for the blocks, 5 seconds for CMLL(2-look) and 7 seconds for LSE.

Is there anything that I can do to get faster?

Hi, and welcome!

Your CMLL seems okay. Work on your blocks, and on your LSE. But mostly on your blocks. What is your movecount split? Try to reduce the movecount, hence increase the efficiency. The first block should be less than 12 moves (it is 6-9 moves for me, but I use partial color neutrality). The second block should be around 14-20 moves.
Do slow solves, when time does not count.

My FB movecount is around 10 to 12. I don't know about my second block. I solve with White or Yellow face on Bottom. Actually, I am trying my best to improve my LSE times. I did an AO100 (for LSE alone) and it turns out to be 6.48s. Will concentrate on blocks too. Thanks.

- work on movecount (maybe post an example solve here)
- practice

I am already doing a lot of it. :) Thanks for reply.

i was just wondering if someone could explain cmll, im learning roux and understand it up to this point, i understand it orients the corners, it's just that i don't understand any of the guides online

thanks, i also was wondering if there were tutorials or tricks to building the first 2 blocks, i can do it, just not quickly

Look at reconstructions here (http://cubesolv.es/?solver=&competition=&puzzle=&time-specifier=&time-value=&tags=roux) and make sure to understand what's going on. I often find it's best to just do the moves, check what pieces and up solved, then undo the moves, find those pieces and watch where they go when you do the moves again. When practising blockbuilding, take plenty of time to check multiple ways to do it, and find the best one you can. Both of these techniques should help you find new, efficient ways to build blocks.
