I didnt want to be rude...

Your pace is good. Before you are sub30 your progess seems very fast - to cut 20 seconds takes week or two etc. But when you sub30 and sub25 to cut every second on averages takes longer. And faster you are the "smaller" steps you do.

Talking about FB - I was using the programms mentioned earlier but I stopped because I've started to make FB in other ways. As you noticed: there's no M move, or E moves or wide move (u, r) etc. and with these moves there's more freedom in planning blocks. Take your time: sometimes you can make squre in one or two moves so you can plan your FB. When you used to your skill will grow.

video I did an Ao5 just to see what tips I could get for it. it's not very good but I suppose that's better for critique.
avg of 5: 13.04:
1. 12.44 U F U' B L2 D L F B2 U R2 D2 R2 D2 F2 R2 D L2 F'
2. 13.50 R' L' F2 U' D B U' F L' D2 L2 U2 R U2 R' F2 R L2 B'
3. (14.38) D B2 F2 U L2 D U' L2 B2 U2 L R' D' L' D' U L2 F' U R2
4. (10.76) U' L2 B2 F' D2 F' D2 U2 L2 B U2 L' D B U' L R D' F R
5. 13.16 U' R2 U L2 U2 L2 B2 R2 B2 R2 D L B2 L F' U2 F' D' L D' B

You could say that I'm working on the first step of that. Planning the whole FB is taking me several minutes, and it's very demoralizing.
Also, that's not really what I asked.

This video helped me a lot for making the square. Maybe you could post some scrambles and how you build your FB or enter the Roux "Example Solve" game thread, I am not the best but if I can help you I'll try :)

Heh, well practicing the first block exclusively wasn't such a great idea after all. When trying to actually solve the whole cube for a change, I found myself breaking FB when doing SB, and getting stuck in CMLL algs.

Back to practicing the whole cube! Since I'm a total noob with best ao12 of 2 minutes, no real need for specialized practice yet, right?

Hey guys I would like some critique. I just videoed this average of 5, and I would like to know what tips for improvement you see.
(sorry for the crappy camera angle, I dont have a tripod or anything like that)
Try turning slower and looking ahead. You have a lot of pauses especially with CMLL and LSE

What's going on with the tongue there [emoji28]

My theory to stop the flow from beginner LBL-> CFOP and to get more rouxers is to create a different beginner’s method to start with, one that easier to transition from roux from. I say we use the corners first method proposed on rubikscube.info. Then we say (kind of like how people say to transition from beginner to CFOp in steps) is to transitino like this:

-solving corners+other corners->2look CMLL for top corners->blockbuilding First block-blockbuilding second block

->Keyholong the L+R sides then L4EO then L4EP->LSE

->CP then CO->change to 2look CMLL

seems like a good idea. corner first can be pretty easy to learn and is good foundation for roux.

we should make a pretty detailed tutorial, like the one on rubikscube.info.
rubikscube.info CF method goes like this:
1.solve D corners
2.Permute+orient U corners
3.z rootation Keyhole in 3 L edges with <L,R,M,U>
4.Keyhole in all 4 R layer edges with <M,R,r,U>
5.solve both layers
6.flip midle edges
7.last 4 edges permutation

Im going to make a tutorial, but for U corners, Im doing this:
-Spam sunes until they are oriented
-permute by using Niklas+U2 then anotehr Sune(easier alg to memorize, and it has an easy name, and it is 7 moves, not like 15.)

To be honest I feel like Roux itself is already enough of a beginner's method. Like, F2B and LSE work entirely intuitively and can be learnt pretty fast. For CMLL as you said, spam sunes and other thing's from LBL beginner method can be used.

I think that F2B/LSE may be a little bit of a stretch.
Beginners need a really structured way of solving just to start.

you can also say that F2L works completely intuitively, but we don't teach beginners F2L right away, we teach them corners then edges(or for TFOP, edges then corners)

As for that, I do teach beginner's intuitive F2L first and it works perfectly every time. ^^
But maybe that means that I'm indeed not the right person to judge what a good beginner method looks like.

Then again, LSE can be seen as a really structured way to solve that substep. For F2B building a square, then pair etc. seems cool too, if we give them an easy way to build those blocks and not telling them the usual "try out how to blockbuild, it's intuitive and soon you'll get it".

to teach my baby sister FB, I literally gave her one of my old cubes(only the Fb stickers on it) and told her to solve it.

why do most beginners methods not have F2L anyway?
I think that for the beginners who can't think on their own, the CF method would be great. Just saying.

not true for total beginners. most people would take a extreme amount of effort to learn roux as their first method, even deedub's beginner roux method. corners first i could see a total beingger learning easily.

thats why I suggested that as a method, then switching out steps to transition to full roux like beginners transition from LBL to CFOP.

I taught my friend the "beginner roux" that Dan teaches on his playlist and he picked it up very quickly.
