uh...question..why roux for OH? it sounds pretty good for the first few steps, but M moves must be a hinderance of some sort

LSE isn't bad at all.
my 2H splits:
FB: 1.5-2
SB: 2-2.5
CMLL: 1.25-1.75
lse: 2-2.5
my OH splits:
FB: 3-3.5
SB:4-4.5
CMLL: 3.25
LSE: 3.5
LSE is probably the best step. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_81a7OjLsU
my god...you must have some strong fingers..well you've definitely convinced me..seeing you flick those M slices like that woahh that's sexy, my fingers aren't strong enough to push M like that with one hand, I guess it's just a matter of practice and experience
it's the same as the reverse pinky flick. once you get good at that, you'll be good at this. loosening your cube helps, but i think for OH, a tighter more stable cube is preferable for the other parts of the solve.
M' U M' U' M U M'// Eo
(U2 M' U2 M U')// UL UR
M2// L4E
Just try not to double up moves so much. Also, you can pair and solve UL and UR simultaneously (see the moves in brackets) in this or similar cases.
I'm using Roux for OH as well. I am aiming for sub 20 and LSE is like half my solve. I use ring for M' and index from BU to FU for M. Is this very bad?
What can I focus on to improve the first 2 blocks?
Locating the pieces is what takes the most time, then seeing how to fit them together.
Currently I locate the first 5 pieces before starting, plan the first 2 or 3 moves and have a rough idea of the others.
What should I look for when doing slow solves, and what are the best things to work on from here?

Hey, Guroux, do you have any tips for reverse pinky Ms and any drills that are good?
get a tight cube. when you're watching a video or something just do a whole bunch of OH moves, including the reverse pinky flick. note that it doesn't have to be M, if you right handed, doing L will work too. After a couple of weeks of going to sleep with a sore pinky, you should be able to M reverse pinky flick no problem on most cube tensions.
for your OH cube, make it a little looser so that the M slice is easier. table abuse on a surface with good friction helps too.
Are there any advantages to always solving UL UR, or does it work to solve UF UB and just end with a U or U'?
