Yeah it's a bad habit but I'm trying to do lefty U2 and M2 so hopefully that will change it

That's a nice solution, better than what I would have done.

Most of what I have done for the past few days is study the sexy move to see if any variation of the moves would apply to block building (albeit it does add to move count, but it's faster for me).

It's better than the sledgehammer. (For any of you cfop>roux solvers. )

if you see sledgehammer will give a better eo case, then go for it. i for one have never used sledgehammer, messes with the flow and my lookahead is not that super.

Personally I'd go R' U' R U

Either [U'] R' U' R2 U R or [U'] B' R2 B, depending on the situation. The first one if I had the case as you see it at the start of SB, but the second if I was intentionally solving the pair before DR.

54.6mm FangShi ShuangRen. Small cube, normal size M slices, and fast but not uncontrollable. Perfect for me, except for a few lockups during fast turning, but that doesn't make too much of a difference most of the time.

Mine's the Gans 357 I believe. It doesn't catch even though I haven't lubed it in ages (although I like really loose tensions)

I think thats pretty common for roux users. Guroux and I have pretty ridiculous tensions.
