Hey guys

Now I'm averaging around 30 sec with CFOP but I'm really BORED!!!!
I'm thinking about switching to Roux, can you convinse me to switch to Roux?
I've also a question, for CMLL, can you also learn COLL (because that's better for FMC..)
or is COLL less efficient?

Thanks in advance :)

you should switch to roux

Is anyone interested in a roux 4x4 yau variant method? I came up wiyht this yesterday (I only started 4x4 yesterday). I think it has potential against normal yau, but im not sure because im really slow at 4x4 (3 minute average).

i don't do 4x4 but finding a rouxish method for 4x4 may stop the bad at big cube criticism.

Someone proposed Yau with a Roux Block instead of a cross, and then instead of rotating back after, you just go into edge pairing, and then finish with Roux. The only problem I can see is that parity becomes a pain in the a**, especially OLL parity.

OLL parity wouldn't be that bad, but you would have to recognise it before CMLL (or just use a bad alg :p). Doing slices is also a problem. I, like rybaby, am probably going to keep using CFOP on bigcubes even after switching to Roux on 3x3.

My first sub-11 with Roux!

39. 10.86 D' B2 D' R2 D2 F2 R2 D R2 B2 D' F' B2 R' U F' U R F' L' F D2

y z // Inspection

U' R U R' y // F2B-2 (4/8)
U' R' U R2 Rw2 U' Rw U' R // F2B-3 (9/17) (I know I should have done M2...)

F R U R' U' R U R' U' F' // CMLL (10/35)
U2 M' U' M // EO (4/39) (4b+4c skip)

3.59 TPS. LSE took about two seconds...

Thats what I thought of initially. 2 centers, 3 block edges and corners, 3-2-3 (but since back 2 corners are used, you cant use them for pairing, but if you use 3U moves it works), influence second block by placing 2 edges and a corner in slot while edge pairing, finish last block pair, cmll (plus parity, I will need help coming up with this), and lse plus edge parity. I think pll parity is more of a problem because you wont realise until after cmll and the eo. Oll parity can somehow be worked into lse and we might be able to blend it in nicely, just as cfop users blend it into oll. Advantages vs yau: block + square is more productive than cross, we use our own method, and no extra algs for pll and oll if we used cfop. Disadvantages: we need to do some work, to figure out when and how to execute parity, and edge pairing requires a couple extra moves (but I thnk its fine because its rotationless).

Well, yesterday's PB didn't last long. First sub 8!

Second time my PB has had Niklas as CMLL :D.

I think my pb is with the h/double headlights case with no swaps R U2 R' U' R U R' U' R U' R'.

My first sub 10 (sub 9 too: 8.76) was with righty Niklas, and this was lefty Niklas, but pretty much the same.

And yeah, 2 move FB's are quite nice :) Easy to look ahead to second block (I think my first sub 10 was also a 2 move FB, though PB's after that I'm not sure of).
