Random Cubing Discussion

Often I have ideas or thoughts that I'd like to post or discuss, but there doesn't exist a topic for. This happens a few times a week and usually consists of method ideas that don't yet merit their own threads - I resorted to discussing RouxZZ in the accomplishments thread, for example.

Think of it like the one answer one question thread, but for adults.

To start us off, I wanna post a video of kirjavaparity ^_^

RouxZZ? Is this some weird fusion between them? Never heard of it 💀

It's been some time and I don't remember correctly, but the Gist of it was

EO without Line
F2B but in a less efficient way because you can't do F or B moves
CmLL
LSE without 4a
so basically.... you do ZZ F2L then you finish with roux?

what is that site to race together with others?

there is cubingtime, but there is a more recent one, I can't find it ....

what is the best way to solve pbl on 3x3?

I thought of something like CP EP like vandenbergh
an idea:
I think I found a good way to do 2 look PBL on 3x3

First look you solve corner permutations on both layers + bottom layer phasing
(this first look will solve corners permutation and cause the bottom layer edges to be solved or have just one pair of edges swapped)

Second look you solve last edges permutation with one alg from EPLL or OCELL

no need for rotations

just a thing I found out messing around with a method idea

for 2 look pll you can solve easily with 2 easy to memorize algs and a small modification

Corners

Adjacent corner swap

R2 U R2 U' D' R2 D R2
U // single turn for adjacent swap
R2 U R2 U' D' R2 D R2

Opposite corner swap
 Twizzle link
R2 U R2 U' D' R2 D R2
U2 // double turn for opposite swap
R2 U R2 U' D' R2 D R2

Edges:
Clockwise

F2
U' // this is the same direction of the 3 cycle
L R' F2 L' R
U' // this is the same direction of the 3 cycle
F2

Counterclockwise

F2
U // this is the same direction of the 3 cycle
L R' F2 L' R
U // this is the same direction of the 3 cycle
F2

to solve H and Z perms, you do any 3 cycle then solve what you get

I will try to teach this method to some friends and see what I get

Honestly, this is nice, however I think I will stick with MU u-perms and normal H-perms. For the corners though I will definitely try those sometime

Ok, however, I did notice that the corner swap above is just a longer j-perm ( not that it's a bad thing, just making mention ), and the second corner swap is N-perm. Did you do that on purpose?
actually you do J on top and J on bottom.
then you turn the top layer and solve J on bottom and do another J on top, but as you moved the layer you will do opposite or adjacent swap.

is not going to be better than doing a normal pll, I just found easy to remember for beginners

Yea that seems like it would be a lot easier. Just thought I would clarify. That's really cool though!
