Public Question: What puzzle would you add to official comps

My list is kind of merging @qwr and @Porcupine01 s list.

-Mirror Blocks (Too many things to deal with as Z3Cubing said in his video)
- FTO
- Master Pyraminx
- Kilominx (Cant wait for better hardware)

Mirror blocks could be standardized (I made a thread about it here: https://www.speedsolving.com/threads/standardizing-mirror-blocks.79759/), but I don't think it's worth adding as a speedsolving event because it's too close to 3x3.

I haven't tried many non WCA events but I have tried two:

15 Puzzle - a fun puzzle but not suitable to add to the WCA in my opinion as it is just simply not a twisty puzzle.
Kilominx - reasonably short event (under 1 minute) but still very fun and could easily be added to the WCA

I'm sure everyone wants FTO, but I don't really something I don't see many people asking for is some bigger minx puzzles, like master kilominx or gigaminx. A lot of people want shape mods, (Such as the FTO), but I disagree, mostly because we already have a 3x3, and it's pretty much the same to have a shape mod, and that's also why I think mirror blocks and the such haven't been added. On the contrary, we already have 2x2-7x7 cubes, so maybe 2x2-7x7 dodecahedrons would be cool. The only problem (at least in the case of the bigger minx puzzles) is that only Shengshou, and for some of them mf8 makes it. There would probably need to be better/more variety in cube choices.

FTO is not a 3x3 shape mod. CTO is an edge only shape mod.

Augghh @MJS Cubing I had a whole argument and made a fool of myself on whether FTO was a shape mod and I was right in the first place! I don't know how to feel.

IMO, any event added to the WCA should a) not be too similar to any existing event (which rules out Mirror Blocks), b) shouldn't bee too fast of events (which rules out ivy cube and redi cube), and b) shouldn't have too many difficulties when holding it in a competition.

With this in mind, here's what I'd love to see added:
- 3x3x5 cuboid (only cubic allowed, for the sake of TNoodle scrambles and preventing other difficulties)
- Master Pyraminx
- FTO
- Curvy Copter with jumbling (although more logistics would need to be figured out first)
- Kilominx
- 3x3 with Feet (I don't think it should have been removed in the first place)

I think the WCA should add at least as often as they remove, preferably more. There's a lot of puzzles that have great speedsolving potential, and right now I don't think there's enough official events, particularly after the removal of Feet.

On a side note anyone who wants Ivy Cube. Is added is wrong. It has just under 30000 scrambles and a God's number of 8.

I think I have enough equipment to keep track of for competitions as a delegate, I have no interest in adding a caliper to that list for what would be a terrible event addition.

Bring back Feet first, it was a big mistake to remove it. Then we can talk about non-trivial puzzles that add something new: FTO, Master Pyraminx, Curvy Copter. Then we can think about other variants: Kilominx, 4x4 With Feet, 6BLD, etc.

I would really like an Ivy cube. It's a really easy puzzle that you can actually figure out on your own, and would be a super fast and fun event.

IMO it is to trivial. There are people that average sub 1 on it...

If you had the power to add a non wca puzzle to official competitions, what would you pick?

Personally, I would pick the Kilominx and the 2x2x3.

I think I would bring back 3x3 with feet, and add 4x4 clock(custom built). I would love to see bigger clocks, as well as better big cubes for 3x3 with feet. I also think a BLD mirror blocks would be cool, but I don't think there would be much of a following of it. Finally, I would really like to see redi added, as there is already pretty good hardware with the yuxin 8 petals cube. I think they were anticipating it would be added, because otherwise there are no reasons to make it magnetic.

Right now 5BLD (and to a lesser extent 4BLD) is an event that, for most cubers, it's a real challenge to just get a non-DNF result. 6BLD would fill a similar niche for cubers who are already good at 5BLD.

That would be dumb because it would just involve solving the tips and doing a couple commutators. nothing special makes it or worth adding to the WCA

A lot of good pyra solvers can 1 look scrambles. It would be similar to 2 blind in that you wouldn't really have to change methods and very short.

I can see why you think that. But we would have to find HOW to do the lettering and what peice the buffer is.
