One-Answer WCA Competition and Regulations Question Thread

not really a regs question but
if you go to a comp for FMC and you miss the first attempt, will they let you do the second and third attempts?
and what about 5BLD?

2u) Competitors must be present and ready to compete when they are called to compete for an attempt. Penalty: disqualification from the event.
  • 2u1) Exception: A competitor who is not present in time for an individually scheduled attempt (e.g. a Fewest Moves attempt, a Multiple Blindfolded attempt) may be considered to have declined that attempt (DNS), at the discretion of the WCA Delegate.
You should ask the delegate, but it would be pretty silly for them to say no.

In my first comp, Sydney Champs 2016, I got a DNF because when i started the solve, the timer was not reset. Is the judge supposed to reset the timer after each solve, or is it the responsibility of the competitor?

That's the judge's responsibility; you should've been given an extra attempt.

Why don't 5BLD scrambles have extra-wide moves at the end of the sequence to scramble the centers?

EDIT: err, at least for cstimer, I don't know about TNoodle. Does TNoodle have extra-wide moves for 5BLD?

I don't know about TNoodle, but just so you know csTimer's "WCA" scrambles aren't all WCA. They used to not be filtered (they might still not be, haven't checked) and the 4x4 scrambles aren't random state.
