About cubingoutloud.com...

Hey,
At the CO2015 (so long ago), I used the pick-up program to buy a Moyu Pyraminx. In the bag that it came in, there was a piece of paper with a discount code. On the paper, it said "get free shipping on your next order over 20$ at Cubing Out Loud." The price of the items was 42$.
When I tried using it (a few minutes ago), it said "This code did not match any active gift card or discount. Was it entered correctly?"
I tried it several times, very carefully, to type it in. It kept on saying that it was wrong. Is there an expiry date???
Please help!

Is the Meiyu really that bad?

QC seems to be an issue. I've tried ones that were really bad, but mine is really good. Outer layers are insanely good, but the inner layers are somewhat sluggish, and many people seem to have gotten units with inner layer catching issues. I'm going to be honest, as much as I love mine, I'm not sure I can recommend it anymore, after the new centers turned out so poorly. If you want to take the risk, definitely worth it if you get lucky, but don't get it assuming it'll be amazing.

My qiyi thunderclap is way too uncontrollable for me, even after tightening it and putting traxxas 50k in the core and pieces. The turning speed isn't ridiculously fast (for example, it won't U2 with a single flick, but it does go slightly past a single U), but I still get lockups as a result of overshooting or pieces shifting when regrouping. Any ideas?

Maybe try another cube...?

What's the difference between catching and lockups?
Thanks.

A lock up mean you have undershot or overshot and can't make a turn in the way you want. On big cubes it can also mean when the mechanism screws up and you have to fiddle with the pieces to put them back where they are. A catch interrupts a move, but doesn't necessarily stop it. It can lead to overshooting by pushing through it too hard, or under shoot and not be able to move. Lock ups don't happen as much on.

I think you might have a defective model of the cube you should compare your cube to other peoples thunderclap and see if there is a difference.

so I have a moyu aolong v2
I've had it for about half a year now. It started off fast and smooth but now it feels sticky and pops when i do U perms. I've never lubed it, and never changed the tensions. The only thing I've done is lots of solves. How can I make it fast again?
