Any piece can be solved w/o a cube rotation...

I know that you really just say things like this on purpose, but I'll go ahead and get more specific for you.

Each corner can be solved using (only) the L or R faces, sometimes edges cannot (without rotating the cube, or doing d/d' turns). I hope this appeases you.

No one actually uses B and F turns during F2L in a speedsolve do they?

They are exceptional, but definitely, yes. For example, a sledgehammer R' F R F' does more than just insert a pair, it flips the edges at FU and FR. That could very well make the next F2L pair "better" if the edge happened to be situated there.

Oops...I misspoke. A sledgehammer inserts a pair (run it backward to setup and see), but it's not a "bad" pair.

I know - I use sledgehammers to orient LL edges quite a bit.

Does anyone use F/B moves in any other F2L situations, or does everyone rotate?

F2L Look ahead help

I often find that when I am practicing look ahead that some of the corners and/or edges may be already inserted into f2l slots(but not solved or in the correct one) so after I finish the current F2L pair, I have don't have another one to solve because I couldn't find it. These are out of view for the entire time I'm solving the current F2L pair.

Any tips on how to fix this?

Usually if I do it after, I have to pause for a few seconds, and If I do it during the F2L pair, It causes me to just rotate back because I can't solve it from that angle.

What is your current average??? I don't think look ahead would help you as much as inserting f2l from different angles.

But I think some angles are slower to insert than others so sometimes a couple of rotations are good.

Nononono that's not what I mean. I mean having to use B or F or something to solve it.

Edit: BTW my average is anywhere from 25-35 because I'm learning full pll(I put it off for a long time)

Thats what I meant, those are a little slower because you use those to orient the edges. Nobody can make you master look ahead, people can try to tell you how they subconsciously do it. But u have to learn it yourself from practicing until you can do it without trying lol.
