GuHong

That's what i kind of thought, it lead me to thinking that when i saw some pictures on google images, plus it has no torpedoes. What really gets me suspicious or unhappy is that it said it was a Zhanchi online and came in a Zhanchi box, but turns out to be a GuHong? Kind of a bad thing they really should get that right.

Hello, I got my YJ Yulong today, and out of the box it was really loose, so I decided to tighten it up. I don't know why but this cube was really loose on the tightest tensions.
Later I tried to swap the core and centers with the sulong's (because the centers are the same) and the cube was way better, and turned normally and it was really good, after I assembled the cube and put together with the yulong's center the cube was the same loose cube. I don't know why I can't set up the cube normally, if you have any ideas why is it, please tell me. Thanks!

The YuLong just has a loose kind of feeling to it so get used to it.

My Dayan Zhanchi is terrible

Alright, so a fee months ago when I started cubing, I purchased a green dayan zhanchi knowing that it was one of the best cubes on the market. When I got it it was amazing and I set all of my Pbs at the time on it. Soon after I decided to purchase silicone lube from cubicle. I ordered weight 1 and 3. I followed crazybadcuber s tutorial on how to lube a zhanchi and after that the cube literally went to crap. The turning was terrible and it hurt my hands during solves I properly tensioned it however I could not get it any faster without creating a popping problem. I wiped lube out of the cube and tried numerous times with the same results. I also tried jigaloo in it as well as I have had success with it in my rubiks brand. The jigaloo made it a bit better but it was still terrible and comparable to my rubiks brand. I have no idea what's wrong with my cube. It is just terrible, I even swapped cores with a dayan guhong core because I thought the core was bad but that wasn't the case.

Any suggestions?

I had a similar experience as well, I bought a Purple Dayan Zhanchi off amazon for just over $12 for a friend of mine. I have a white Zhanchi myself and it has never popped for me or caused any problems. However, this cube (after waiting months for it to come) seemed to be built horribly. The blue side right out of the box was so loose that one could just take the pieces out with no effort. Even when tensioned much tighter the cube would still pop crazily. At this point the orange side has begun to deteriorate as well.

My first thought was that it was in such bad shape because the purple body color is so uncommon that it is not made correctly or bothered with inspection or something? Obviously the white and black bodies are much more common, so therefore inspected better?

I have no idea, but it is certainly a disappointment

Hi Everyone
I recently bought my first brand new Dayan Zhanchi 3x3 from a supplier on E-Bay. When I received the cube within the first few seconds of play it popped. I re-assembled the cube and a few minutes later it popped again. After numerous pops I approached google, Youtube and the Speedsolving forum for assistance. This lead me to videos and instruction on correct tentsioning and lubing of my Zhanchi. I managed to lube and tension the cube to a point where it would not pop anymore but the cube felt way to stiff. But when I loosened it up just a bit it would pop again. I wrote this off to me just being inexperienced and maybe just to rough with my finger moves. But then 2 days ago I received another identical Zhanchi I ordered from a different supplier through E-bay. Now this cube felt as loose and smooth as the first one, but it does not pop at all. I have played with it quite a bit and to this point I have not had one pop. No issues what so ever. This feels more like what I expected the Zhanchi to bee.

My Question is this: Was the first one I got just a dud, or is it possible that there are fake/knock-off Zhanchi cubes out there?
has anyone else had a similar experience to this?

What do you expect it's a zhanchi... :P

There are actually cubing stores for a reason...

Hey Zuki, I actually have a purple Zhanchi as well and I can vouch for it and say it can be a good cube. Most cubes are assembled by hand so uneven tensions are common out of the box. Have you taken the entire cube apart and tensioned it that way? It seems like it might be a tensioning issue to me but I'm not 100% sure.

dayan zhanchi "problem"

well i just bought my first speedcube dayan zhanchi!
i ordered the white but was kinda confused when i got it, it was suuuper loose. I have tested my friends speedcubes and i know it doesn't need to be that loose. you could put your finger inbeetween the middle pieces.
Is this normal for zhanchi??

I also tightened the screws and now when it feels good it makes this squaking noise how do i fix that?

Tensions vary in cubes. It just depends on personal preference. I prefer very loose cubes so I tension all my cubes to be looser. Some people like their cubes tighter so they tighten them. I always tension my cubes out of the box because they rarely, if ever, come properly tensioned since most cubes are assembled by hand.

You can get rid of the squeaky sound by lubing the core and hardware.

Moyu Lingpo Problem?

Hello, I'm new to this forum. I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong section. Today I received a Moyu Lingpo 2x2 and was very satisfied. It was a great cube that had no problems. That is, until I pulled it apart to see the mechanism. I took a good look at the pieces and re-assembled the cube. After doing some tensioning, only 2 faces of the cube would turn smoothly (with its normal slight scratchy feel). The other two faces were extremely scratchy and kept on catching on pieces. I pulled it apart again to check if the pieces were in position correctly, but I saw no problems. Do any of you know how I could fix this? My cube no longer performs well at all. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I believe that you are assembling it incorrectly. In the 2x2, one corner piece is locked down by three edge pieces that have extra "hooks" on its sides. Try disassembling it entirely, and you should be able to separate those three pieces. Now, when you assemble the 2x2, you choose a corner and surround it by those three edge pieces with hooks, and just proceed to assemble the rest of the puzzle like you were.

Edit: here is a video tutorial. It's for a Dayan, but it's basically the same thing
