Improving timing

Hi I'm new here... have been playing cube for about 5 months now... average timing = 40 seconds. Not exceptionally good... how do I improve? I am now using the "normal" method, which is layer by layer btw. Thanks!

You start by reading how others got faster (search for OLL, PLL, F2L, 4 look last layer, 3 look last layer, Petrus, Roux), you practice and you ask others how they got faster

go here in the beginners section and start reading every thread from the oldest to the newest. it will take you some time but it's worth. that's what i did...i still read from time to time old threads.

if you want a fast solution to your question: start learning f2l then oll then pll you'll find them on many sites...go to cubestation.co.uk for example

Seriously, but these people really need to put their times and stuff for each step >.<
At least then we could give them some positive criticism on their cubing habits
