[Help Thread] Curvy Copter Discussion

Wow...that was...simple! I don't really know what I was getting hung up on, but it's an easy and quick solution. I really appreciate your reply and its speedy nature!

It's essentially what I was trying to do, but I guess I had it all wrong.

I like this puzzle. I find the last layer to be a bit of a bore, but with jumbling it's a fun challenge and this should be the last thing I needed to work on to be consistent in my solves. Once again, THANKS!

Curvy copter help please

Hi i am trying to solve my curvy copter, that was jumbled, and i am on the second to last step of getting the corners into the correct spots, but the problem is i have 2 corners next to eachother that are correct, and 2 across from those that need to be switched? what do i do??

RedKB has a tutorial on youtube, check it out :)

hi

I have a problem:

If i try to solve the curvy copter, two corners has to be changed in the last layer. RedKB said in his tutorial, if that happens i just have to switch one edgecenter "manually" But as i did and tried to solve again, i just ended up with one switched center and two corners which have to be changed.

Any ideas?

Curvy Copter last layer

Hey Folks. I'm new here, so please tell me if I've done something wrong.

I got the Curvy Copter yesterday. The first solves without jumbeling were pretty easy. So today I tried it with jumbeling.

Now im stuck at the last layer with the problem you'll see in the picture.

Can someone please explain what I did wrong?

Thanks and greets from switzerland.

Hi.

Well the difficuty depends actually on the way you scramble it.

Scramble normally (without Jumbeling) is pretty easy, I actually was able to solve it intuitively.

When you start to jumble it gets harder. It is shapeshifting, which isn't the hard thing.
Even when you get it back to the cube shape you might have to jumble again to solve it corectly.

Hope I could help you!

Thanks

You didn't do anything wrong, that is a completely normal situation with jumbling.

One possible solution:
Notation: UF = turn up-front edge by 180 degrees, UF+ = turn up-front edge clockwise until first jumbling position

DL DF FR (UR+ FL+ UF UR- FL- UF) FR DF DL

The key is the stuff in parentheses, which swaps two pairs of centers. The rest just makes sure both of the centers of one pair are the same color.

Well. Thanks. Even though I haven't got the notations completely, I was able to solve the cube!

When hold the yellow side up and the red side towards me, like in the picture am do I apply the following moves correctly:

1: DL = Down-Left
2: DF = Down-Front
3: FR = Front-Right (Is it correct, that my Top-Layer is now destroyed?=
Is this correct?

Last layer of Curvy Coptor

I recently got a curvy Coptor and mixed it up with jumbling moves. I have solved everything except the last layer. Right now I am trying to place and orienate the center (clover pieces with one color) I have placed and orienated the green/yellow sides and when working on white I found one of the pieces was in the incorrect orbit. I tried messing around with jumbling but can I can't solve it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS: I don't know any algorithms (used common sense to get this far) or notation. I can solve a 3x3 and 2x2

EDIT:

I got all the pieces Int eh correct orbit :)

Now to work on the last layer with only 180 turns (I hope).

Thanks!

So I keep getting this parody on my curvy copter that causes the whole thing to be solved except for one corner that needs to turn clockwise. anyone know how to fix it?

That's an impossible case. It's likely that you accidentally twisted a corner or took it apart and put it back together incorrectly. Either way, just physically turn the corner (you might need to take it apart to do this), and you won't have the problem in any future solves.
