I think what'd be fun/interesting is seeing how different people solve the same scramble.
It'd be interesting because:
  • Different methods
  • Different levels / algorithm sets used
  • Even if someone has the same level as you, you can still learn how to solve something (FB, F2L pair, EO ...) more efficiently / differently
  • You can get your solve critiqued
Just state the method you use and what you average. I'll start (using GenTheThief's scramble):

Method: CFOP
Average: low 20s

U' F U2 B D2 R2 D2 R2 F R2 B' L2 F' D' R U L D U L'

z y2 // Inspection
D R' L D' L' // Cross
y' U2 L U L' // Green/Yellow pair
U2 D' L' U L D // White/Blue pair
y' U L U2 L' U' L U L' // Blue/Yellow pair
U R U2 R' (U R U' R') // Green/White pair
F (U R U' R') F' - U2 - R2 D (R' U2 R) D' (R' U2 R') // 2 look OLL
U' F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F' // PLL (Y)

Nice idea! I’ll post a Petrus solve using that scramble later.

And here's a solve critique:
I'm gonna critique @BlastKracken7's solve, if you don't mind me doing.

Scramble: L2 R U2 L' B2 L' B2 R2 U2 B2 F' U F' U' R' B' R2 D R F'
D R' U2 F D2 R' L //cross
y' U R U R' U' L' U L //F2L 1
U2 R U R' //F2L 2
y2 L' U L U R U R' U R U' R' //F2l 3
y' R U2 R' y' R' U2 R U2 y2 L' U' L U y' R U' R' y L' U L //VHLS
l U' R' D R U R' D' x //OLL
U R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' //PLL

What I would've done:

Cross: y2 U' R' (F B') R' D'
It's one move shorter and the fingertricks are better

F2L 1: y U L U L' U' R' U R
Basically the same thing but rotating so that the pair is solved in the back

F2L 2: U2 R U R'
Same thing

F2L 3: y2 L' U L U R U R' U R U' R'
You should generally avoid y2 in solves, but doing a y' instead of a y in F2L 1 left you with both front slots solved and you got unlucky with the remaining 2 pairs, already (incorrectly) inserted in the back slots. So I guess at this stage I would've done the same thing (maybe someone more experimented than us could give an idea of what to do here ?)

VHLS:
I don't know this alg set so I'm going to trust you here (but like, an alg with 4 rotations ? Really ? Including a y2 ? I'm not sure this is faster than inserting the pair normally (U' L' U L U L' U L U' L' U L) then doing normal OLL)

OLL - PLL:
Ok

There probably is a better alg but its good for me. that and i usually rotate 2 times for VHLS but I got an unlucky-ish case

I feel like doing a solve. Here's an OH ZZ solve from a low-mid 15 solver:

F2 R2 U' F2 D R2 B2 R2 B2 D' R D2 R U L2 F' L2 R' B L

x' z // Inspection
U' R' U2' D z' D x' U x D2' x' // 7/7, EOLine
R' U2' (Rw x') U2' (Rw x') // 5/12, LB Block
U R U R U (Rw x') R U R' U' R U2' R' // 13/25, R Block
U' z U' R' U R U' R' U // 8/33, LF Block
z' U R U R' U R U' R' U R' U' R2 U' R' U R' U R U' // 19/52, 2GLL

52 HTM, 61 ETM (Inspection doesn't count)

I typically execute L OH as either some slight form of <Rw x'> or <z U z'>, the former for single L moves and the latter for multiple moves. I probably should have done a z rotation for LB because it's faster and then I could have stayed there for the first two moves of the R block

I average around around 26 seconds using CFOP - 4 seconds cross, 13 seconds F2L, 4 seconds OLL and 5 seconds PLL. Can someone help me to get to sub-20?
And how should I improve on my cross, since I can only find out 2 or 3 of the cross pieces during inspection?

Know good algs, work on their recog, and your LL should be around 6-7 secs. This applies to F2L as well - sometimes it’s worth trying to figure out your own, better solution. As for cross, don’t worry about the 15 seconds or anything. Put white on bottom, and just look around the 3 sides you can see, rotating if necessary. Make sure your cross is efficient as well, 6 or 7 should be your average, then just spam lots of inspection and cross solving.
