I took a picture with Max Park at US Nats 2023 (super chill guy, asked him when he was gonna get his next 3x3 WR single lmao)
judged Luke Garrett at Saint John's Spring 2022, he got a 5.85 I think

now for MY things:
DNF'd first 3x3 solve of the first round at a comp last November, then got double PR with a 6.92 single and an 8.87 avg (first sub 8 single and first sub 10 avg lmao)
I have an official 4BLD mean and 5BLD single (going for mean soon, have 3 COMPS coming up with it)

oh yeah also me and Livia Kleiner are pretty good friends somehow

WSMA 2024 REPORT
Friday:

Rolled up to Weston. Didn't tell many people I was going so got to surprise a lot of people. Friday night I was in wetherspoons with like 30 other cubers from the comp. Planned to eventually talk to Feliks, even if it's just a "hi i'm a fan" and a handshake. But instead, I see him walking by, he stops and says "oh hey it's Swagrid". Turns out he watches my channel.
I spent the rest of the night trying to look normal while freaking out internally.

Saturday:
Bombed 4x4 but made up for it by getting a 7x7 mean. This was my 4th attempt at a 7 mean, first attempt was 5:16 with a 5:15 cutoff, second was DNF with 6:00 cutoff, third was a 5:42 with a 5:15 cutoff, and now I got a 5:43 with a 6:00 cutoff. Once I made the cutoff, the pressure was off and I got a 5:08 single. I judged about 3 solves in the next 7x7 round, but one of them was Feliks 1:49.12 7x7 OcR.

After this, I got double PR in 5, and went out to wetherspoons again. After getting adequately blasted with Cham, I had enough confidence to go and talk to Faz properly. We talked about the future of cfop/zb, future of eo in cfop, how yiheng does it, and zbll. I got to teach him an alg he liked that was awesome.

Sunday:
Double pr in both OH and mega - OH AVG is now NR52 and my PR2 mega single was judged by Faz. During 3x3 second round, Jake Brown and Aidan Grainger got 3.91 and 3.69 singles about 5 minutes apart from each other. I was there to witness the only cubing round in history with two different people getting sub 4s, and watch two people make a PR jump equivalent to that of Yusheng Du. They now have WR and WR2 for "slowest 3x3 average to have a sub 4 single", with their singles being WR10 and WR18.

Overall I did quite well myself, had multiple cool interactions with the GOAT, and witnessed the most insane cubing round of all time. 9/10 comp

At the last comp I went to I had an embarrassing experience.
Of course, normally I sign my score sheets with my initials, but this time the judge said that this comp was different and that I needed to sign with my competitors ID. Then I went up to judge in a later round and one of the competitors signed with their initials. I told them that they were wrong and that they were supposed to sign with their competitors ID. They corrected me and I was about to push it further and then they told me they organized the comp 😅

I got a lot of good NA cubers + nahm to sign a cube at US nats, also my dad apparently had a rlly long conversation with max park’s parents at us nats on the way to the venue. I also gave ezra shere directions lol.
I see zayn at most of my comps and he’s judged me a lot.

Finally, i was there for zayn’s 0.92 average, and posting it first is one if my proudest moments lmao. (I’ve witnessed 3 wr’s)

It typically doesn’t matter what you sign with as long as it is identifiable to you. For instance, I sign with elir (first name + first letter of last name) which is very identifiable to me. (Even at worlds, I am the only Eli R competing.) They usually tell people to sign with competitor ID cause it’s pretty common for people to have the same initials.
