5 days until Salem Spooktacular 2023! Progress update:

3x3: My competition goals are a sub-22 PR average and a sub-18 PR single. I learned a new algorithm for OLL 23 (R2 D R' U2 R D' R' U2 R') and got my average down to 22.25 with 2 more 16 second solves.

Megaminx: I found some useful tricks for the last layer that will improve my times, but I have not done any timed solves today because it takes forever to scramble.

Salem Spooktacular 2023 Results:

3x3:
For the first round I got a PR average of 23.60, then I made 2nd round and got a new PR average of 22.77.

Megaminx:
This was my first time competing in Megaminx, and the cutoff time was 3 minutes. I got a 2:32.82 single and I was able to get an average of 3:28.71.

Pyraminx:
The first round of Pyraminx was insane. All of my solves were sub-10, and I crushed both PRs by 2 seconds. Then I made finals, and my first solve was pretty bad. On my third solve, the Pyraminx wasn't scrambled, so I did a "solve" and got 0.3 seconds. My judge wrote the time down, and I realized that I had accidentally broken the Pyraminx world record. I told a delegate and I got an extra, which was pretty bad and I ended up with a 12.64 average.

Skewb:
My first round was pretty good, I got a PR average of 10.09 and a PR single of 8.02. In the finals I was doing good, but then I got a 17 and it ruined my average.

After doing some solves I am now sub-22, and I just got a crazy 18.67 PB ao5 with only sub-20 solves.

Day 1 of Relearning 2x2:
I've decided to learn how to solve a 2x2 again. I average around 6 seconds now, which is faster than before because I have much better TPS, lookahead, and recognition. However I've forgotten 2 OLL algorithms, which is slowing down my solves. I am going to relearn these algorithms, practice TPS and recognition, and hopefully get my average down to 5 seconds.

I can do OLL H now, but I need to practice my execution. My goal for today is to get sub-1 execution for OLL H.

im assuming u use lbl for 2x2, learn ortega, it can make you sub 5. as for me, im currently sub 7-10 using ortega.

I can do OLL H pretty well, but I haven't done any timed solves because my 2x2 needs to be cleaned and lubed

Megaminx Update:
I am finally sub-3 on Megaminx and I got a 2:20.90 PB single. My new goal is to get my average down to 2:30

I made my 3x3 really loose and it's much better now, I got a 14.79 PB single and lowered my average by 0.20 seconds.

I was locking up a lot on my Super RS3 M, so I started turning a bit lighter. My TPS is better and I'm getting a lot less lockups and I got a 12.41 PB single!
