Awesome!!

I'm teaching my 3 yr old daughter now, but she doesn't quite understand it yet.

How old is Yu Da Hyun? I think 8 yrs and she avg's sub-20. She can also sub-minute megaminx.

Cool!

I tought my daughter when she was a little over five years old.
Make sure that you approach it very slowly, small steps at a time before moving forward.

I showed all steps to let her know a solve is done in steps but detail explanation of steps was very slowly.

along the lines of:
cross (don't bother with relative position)
face
cross correct
layer
2 layers
Edge orientation
corner permutation Niklas
corner orientation Sune repetition
edge permutation U perm repetition

every time only moving forward if the previous step is properly understood

I agree totally with with what you've said.

What I will say though is that when I taught my brother who is also 5 years of age, it took him a while (a week) to learn the concept and just to manage to learn the white cross. After that he picked the rest of the cube within a 5 days, including first layer corners, second layer, yellow cross, full yellow face, final layer edges and finishing cube.
It is astonishing now that hes been cubing for about 6 weeks what he can do.

I mean just by looking at me doing OLL and PLL he is learning new algorithms without any help.

Check him out here solving just over 1 minute.
