[Help Thread] 7x7x7 Discussion

I don't know any videos to solve it, I learned from a friend. The method I use for two last centers is logical. I call it "X-ing it out". It is basically where you move up a piece into a place you want it, turn U or U' then turn up the layer to "X" it out with the bottom color. Then do U or U' and fix the first turn, then fix the second turn you made. This can be done with 2-3 pieces in a line also.

Ok so i got centers down, but i keep running into a weird parity, it's like where 2 of the pieces beside the middle piece need to be swapped, like | x
needs to be swapped with this............... | x

whats weird about that? if you know how to solve the 5x5 this "parity" shouldnt be a problem just use te one that you'd use on a 5x5 but only turn the layer tat needs to be fixed and the U layer

no problem:) i remember my first 7x7 solve it took me just under 28 mins:P thought i had no help iirc

I'm not much of a speedcuber, i just like to learn to solve alot of different puzzles, so it took me like 45 mins to solve the 7x7, i kinda solved it before though, but i took 2 centers out and 2 edges out and swapped them to solve it, so i didn't actually solve it, i cheated lol

I recommend you to watch videos on a 5x5x5 and solve one a couple of times, before moving on to a 7x7x7. If you don't have an 5x5x5 and don't plan to buy one in the near future, you can solve a virtual one on your PC. Going from a 4x4x4 to a 7x7x7 is like going from a bicycle to a Ferrari.

what?.. why the heck would you say that? i mean.. maybe it's just me but in my eyes that's just bs. would you recommend someone who is new to cubing to start of with magic or 2x2 because 3x3 might be too difficult? i mean what difference does it make doing a 4x4 or 7x7. you need one more algorithm and a bit more knowledge bout the centers but thats it...

I can't clearly see the second edge but just slice and flip the edges until you have the inner edges that touch the center edge solved. then treat that like the center edge of a 5x5 and solve like you would on a 5x5
