I'd say practice punctuation.

Turn really fast. It sounds stupid but just focusing on that helped me. I got sub 10min when I was averaging about high teens for 3x3 so I definately would take Dene's advice.
I would say that, based on your times for other cubes, you are a very long way from getting sub10 on 7x7. I would recommend working on 3x3 more. Try to get that in the low 20 range. Then try and get 5x5 down to the low 2 minute range. Then you should be able to get sub10 on 7x7 with ease.
With 5x5 down to low 2mins, you should easily be sub7 I think.

Back to your method, if solving the edges like a 5x5 means doing the inner edges completely, then doing the outer edges, you may want to address this. Do it all as one stage ie get the 5edges together, not 3 edges, then come back later to add the other two.
im averaging about 2:05 on 5x5 and about 8min on 7x7
I can't recall my times exactly, but I think I worked my butt off and got sub6 on 7x7 when I was around 2 minutes on 5x5.
Hmm, I'm averaging sub 1:55 on 5x5 and I have only a few sub 8 7x7 solves![]()
Really? I avg 2.20ish on 5x5 and am pretty much 6.30 on 7x7, with a sub6 PB single now (not that the single counts for much.)
Sub 6 single and almost sub 6 average on 7x7x7, but needing 2 minutes on 5x5x5 which I practice much more often.
and I do inner center edge-pairing and then outer edge-pairing (AvG for bigcubes) which everyone seems to agree on is slow but it only takes me about 2 minutes. 3:30 for centers, 2:00 for edge-pairing, 0:45 for 3x3x3 is quite easy to reach for me (a very slow turner). My theoretical limits are about 3:00, 1:40 and 0:30 giving me a 5:10. My real PB is about 5:30
Do you practise 7x7 a lot?
Don't misunderstand me, I don't think AvG twice slow (why would I use it otherwise?) but almost everyone uses the "bigcube" method. make a whole paired edge (5 edges combined), store it in U (or D, but not both), do that for the first 4 big edges. Then turn the cube upside down and do it 4 more times so that U and D contain 8 big combined edges. During this stage you don't have to realign the centers all the time, they can be "sliced apart". The last 4 pairing can be done with AvG or intuitive or with lots of algs (again, see the bigcube website)what is the fast way? this is the way i do it ; w; basically AvG twice. i average about 8:30ish. i feel like that is really slow, but i fail at last 2 centers

I haven't solved big cubes but that actually sounds like a valid idea. You save a tiny amount of time per turn but since it's such a big cube the time difference in the end should be pretty noticable.
