Random Cubing Discussion

Fun fact that is exactly where my name comes from

I just got ZZ printed on a shirt: My image is a cube with dark grey corners, light grey oriented edges and white+blue line edges.
But they increased the contrast on the whole photo so now the oriented edges are coloured the same as the line way edges. So basically they turned my EOLine into an EOCross

I bet those nonmagnetic cubes are crunchy or smooth as hell
Magnets are great but we lost some of the extreme smoothness of nonmag

Yeah this is random

So I got pretty good linear FMC solves with (somewhat) easy lookahead like this
Heise (allowing for one mismatched 2*2 block)
ZBLS (looking up algsheet)
ZBLL (looking up algsheet)

Alright don't try this because I figure you have better things to do than memorizing 1000 algs
But as a way for new FMCers to get any sense of achievement consistently I think it's okay
Now forget about this shitpost

With Clock's removal being all but imminent, and with big cubes getting smaller and smaller, do you think cube stores & comp organizers will soon start selling & using shorter cube covers, similar to the GAN cover?

You should've seen TheCubicle's 2022 cube cover. Comically large. It could fit 12 3x3s.

My only experience with those covers was at a comp a few years ago. They were used for multiblind

Speaking of TheCubicle, today I learned that their old shop page is still available through their old domain. It hasn't been updated since November 2018, which presents us with a little view back to the past. As someone who ordered from them before they switched domains, it's strangely nostalgic searching through their old catalog.

(Note: your web browser might warn you of an invalid certificate. The domain is registered to TheCubicle themselves, so the site should be fine to visit. Just to be safe, do NOT try to log into your account.)
