For FTO, can anyone explain what is the best method for cubers getting into speedsolving it, and are there any good resources for learning that?

Okay, there seems to be a bit of a misunderstanding. I do really care about the time and effort all of the people have put in to Clock. I do think that long term, the removal of Clock is good, but I do agree that having it only to be this soon is bad. I think we did need more of a notice and time. One thing that I would be down for, is if comps were still allowed to host Clock, just as an unofficial event, like some do for pen-on-cap or gear cube and whatnot. I honestly just don’t think Clock as a puzzle deserves to be an official event, but by no means to I desire the effects its removal will have. I think that the removal of Clock was inevitable (and imho, kinda necessary). I by no means think there aren’t downsides, but I think that the decision was something that needed to happen at one point or another. And I think that we should not try to reverse the WCAs decision, but not learn to accept the change. So just because you see clock as a “meaningless puzzle”, that justifies the removal of clock??
What about the people who spent HOURS upon HOURS of time practicing clock? What about the painful drills, and weeks of what seems like no improvement, just to try and become good at the event?? People have dedicated their entire cubing careers to clock, only for it to mean nothing because it got removed for what seems like NO REASON. Do people actually know how hard it is to truly try and get good at an event??
I really don’t see the point of removing clock. I’m not actually mad that clock is leaving, I’m mad over the fact that they are willing to put the years of hard work of competitive(and non competitive) clockers to waste. I can resonate with the clock community right now because i know how it feels to spend hours of practice just for it to go to waste. I don’t even have a clock (lol).
I don’t really see the point of removing clock. And i don’t understand the thinking of people who want clock, or any event, to be removed. If you don’t like an event, ignore it.
A bit off-topic, but I observed something:
When people dislike something, they bother to pay attention.
But why would you pay attention to something you don’t like?
Wouldn’t it be better to just ignore it?
Of course there are exceptions, but it’s a common thing i see in social media. When people see an AI slop video, they bother to actually click on the video and call out the slop.
anyway, sorry for my rant, and sorry if it feels disrespectful
I am also aware of intuitive ways of solving the FTO, such as doing edge first, then corners, and finishing with commutators to solve the triangular centre piecesBencisco or smth like that has the best tutorial and further more on how to improve
i agree. finally someone brings this outCan’t agree more, 2x2 should be removed before clock
NOT SKEWB, but the rest is somewhat valid, though I like 7x7.If any had to be removed, I would say skewb, 7x7, 4bld, and 5bld should've gone first. Skewb is not that exciting, 7x7 is close to 6x6 and 5x5, and so few people compete in 4bld and 5bld it might as well be an unofficial event. Clock wasn't a good event to be added and I don't care much about it personally but I don't think it was justified to remove it
The spectator excuse is nonsense, nobody has ever complained about that before.
I mean I really dont care? Like I dont cube anymore let alone do clock so it doesnt apply to meHow hasnt @Volodymyr K said anything?
I mean I really dont care? Like I dont cube anymore let alone do clock so it doesnt apply to me
That doesnt change anythingBut you are going to NAC (or at least you name is on the list) And you recent PR avg ranked 3rd in the world.
Thats not really spectator though, thats more of a breakdown, plus the best method for clock is close to a blindfold solve, so it’s closer watching a blindfold solve than a 2x2.Just a random thought:
You know what is fun? Re-watching 2x2 solves in super slow mo!
You know what is not fun? Trying to do the same with clock...![]()
signed it! all the cubing community needs to sign this broIve spent so much time into this event, and when im getting good the wca decides to do this
But hey, make sure to sign this Petition to give clock a final chance
i dont cube anymore either but i'm just disappointed because i actually learned 7 simul. it's not like cubing is really a spectator event or something that non cubers watch for fun. i've also accepted cubing isn't a sport because there's no way that the top cubers are athletes i mean if 8yos are top athletes that's kindof sad. ok lowkey don't know why i wrote that here but whaterver. come on tho bring clock backI mean I really dont care? Like I dont cube anymore let alone do clock so it doesnt apply to me
Largest useless petition in history?Guys! We got 1.7k signatures on the petition!
