This is equivalent to telling Ukraine that they should just be classified as Russia
Unlike Ukraine, I'm pretty sure (Please correct me if I'm wrong) many people in Northern Ireland don't like the United Kingdom and would rather be a part of Ireland.

Some might do but it's probably not a majority and the whole of Ireland was once part of the UK but they had a referendum where each region voted, the 4 northern regions voted to stay in the UK while the rest voted to become independent, that was respected and Ireland became independent with northern Ireland remaining part of the UK, things may have changed in the past 100 years but there isn't really any compelling evidence for that.

There's a long history on this, and an irregular war known as The Troubles featuring kidnappings and bombings was fought between the Loyalists (pro-UK) and Republicans (pro-Ireland). To this day, Belfast has "peace walls" designed to separate the nationalist Catholics from the unionist Protestants.

Since last year (I’m pretty sure) there are more catholics in Northern Ireland than Protestants. In a few years I’m guessing that Ireland will become United as most of the republic would like a United ireland and in a few years I’m assuming the same will be true for NI

Interesting. The only reason I know so much about this is I was trying to find out the reasons behind the Ulster flag being flown and the North Irish independence songs:
