Since you can sometimes cancel into 4c, I think it's closer to 4. I don't know about CMLL, but I'll calculate it with a spreadsheet later (when I have access to my laptop)what is the average movecount for CMLL?
and what is the average movecount for 4c?
i'm guessing 10 and 5?

He asked for tips and I gave him mine. It would be less of asking for a location of alcohol anonymous meeting and giving him the location to the bar then the other way around if anything. Roux if fun built in my opinion cfop is the way to goJust stop. He asked a question, and you're not helping. That's like giving someone directions to a bar when they're trying to get to a Alcohol Anonymous meeting. I could give plenty of reasons that Roux is better than CFOP, and it's an ongoing debate I have with my cubing friends. The thing is, though, nothing ever comes of it. The big three methods are about equal, and you can find people attesting to this all across this website. Some methods are better suited to some people, and others to other people. If he wants to switch to Roux, it's his decision to make. I personally think you should, but make sure you check out both CFOP and ZZ before committing. I understand that you may be rather prestigious feeling (trying to learn ZBLL anyone?), but I was the same way. I've switched methods more times than I care to count, and there were a few times I was set on learning ZBLL. Make sure you make the right decision, so you don't waste time switching later. A few resources I've found very helpful are the Roux-tubing channels. Watch videos by Kian Mansour, Kangaroux, Guroux, and such. If I missed any, feel free to remind me. Kian's got a nice collection of algs on his website.
Have fun, and don't be discouraged!
Viva la Rouxvolution!
I suppose I may have overreacted. It would be more like giving someone directions to Wendy's when they're trying to get to MacDonald's. They're both ways to get food. You might think it's better, and they might not. The thing is, he didn't ask if he should switch, he wanted help doing it, and it would be more helpful if you weren't trying to dissuade him from doing so. anyway, no hard feelings, but I will ask that you refrain from acting like this in the future. He asked for tips and I gave him mine. It would be less of asking for a location of alcohol anonymous meeting and giving him the location to the bar then the other way around if anything. Start out with a limit of 11-12, and gradually reduce it. For sub-20, I'd say suitable splits are 3-6-4-6, or thereabouts.I'm working on getting better with Roux, and right now I'm working on getting to sub-20. What movecount should I try to limit myself to for my first block, and what should my splits be?
