Nah; you'll definitely beat me cause you have a headstart and i don't have too much time to learn algs and neither am I good at learning them cause I'm lazy :p

it was a joke lol (all those zbll scrubs in the accomplishment thread)
I dont have that much time either, so i'm only going for 2 subsets every weekend

Since I started using roux, I build my second block connecting 2 random pieces(out of the 5 that make the second block) that can be joined more easily, then insert the 3rd piece(edge) and then the last pair.

Though, I see our fast guys Alex Lau, Guroux and PDF immediately inserting DR edge and then the 2 pairs left. Although it is not movecount wise, does it help with lookahead and speed?

yes, its usually faster to just do DR edge then 2 pairs, but there are a lot of cases where you can insert DR and influence the other pieces or solve a pair.

What's a good movecount for a linear slow solve (~1tps)?

I seem to get between 45 and 55 when I do it; I've not done many solves but I'm guessing around 50 moves. I found it hard to not turn at less than about 2 TPS though (average time seems to be 22-23) so perhaps you could do a little better.

However I'm not sure you get a good idea of your efficiency from this; it might be better to look at your movecount without CMLL, since that's dependent on which algs you use. The other steps are where your efficiency actually matters.

what is your average cmll movecount, i think mine is high 9.

Yeah I guess. I aim for sub-45 but usually get like 47 or so (wish I could do that in a speedsolve :p) The reason I ask is cause it's getting cold here so both my cube and hands are underperforming... :/

Don't know. I think it's around that for me as well.

47 is definitely good. You'd average mid 9 if you could do that at 5 TPS!

Do you think it would be better to familiarize yourself with 1 block very well, or have more options to start the solve, but with less confidence due to the larger spectrum of pieces needed to familiarize yourself with? Obviously multiple blocks could become very familiar but that would take much more practice

4 or 8 is the best. any less: bad cases. any more: hard to get used to.
