Oh really? I didn't expect I was efficient (for my speed), maybe the L6E is not that bad but I was thinking my worst part were the F2B. Usually I can't even plan my first 2x2 during inspection.

well, usually sup 30 do crazy stuff, you seem to pretty much insert things pretty efficiently, even if it wasn't planned. in fact, your efficiency for f2b and lse is on par with sub 20. of course planning the whole first block and having good lookahead across your whole solve will allow you to be more efficient too.

Roux Help and Discussion thread

When I started doing first blocks with other colors I didn't think of any disadvantages so since then what I do is my blue or red blocks fixed on the left and my green/orange on the right, starting my first block on the right or the left. I asked about it a few days ago https://www.speedsolving.com/forum/...ssion-thread&p=1115991&viewfull=1#post1115991

In fact I'm better with my right hand, now I see how this affects me, thanks... but I think I'll continue doing the blocks like this, maybe my left hand improves this way.

Be able to make your blocks with the white on bottom and yellow on bottom, and solve all sides as first and second block, I'd practice CMLL until you can recognize and execute under 4~ secs before learning any new algs. Im about a weeks progress ahead of you.
DONT try to increase TPS beyond what you are able to do.

That advice about CMLL and TPS sounds good, thanks.

I do the blocks with white or yellow on bottom.

Why is it better to be able to do for example my blue block on the right and also on the left? (that's what you were meaning?) Finding the pieces is not a bit more difficult that way?

Do you do one block on one side when the bottom color is white and on the other side if solving with yellow on bottom?

Ideally you should be X2, Y CN or basically you should be equally good at building any colour block first as long as it has white or yellow on the bottom.
Full CN isn't really worth it though as you can already exploit any easy/premade pair with just X2,Y

Also, most roux users do the FB on the left because they are right handed so doing the FB on the left eliminates most L moves so fingertricking is better. The secondary advantage is that if you are right handed you are usually right eye dominant so you tend to be able to process things slightly faster with that eye naturally.

I meant X2, Y I just don't know what the color neutral terms.

just looked it up, and its which eye your brain prefers receiving information from. I'm also left eye lmao
None of the tests I looked at on Wikipedia helped me at all, except one. The spinning dancer confused me so much. It looked clockwise at first. Then I looked at the image that emphasises anticlockwise, and now I see it differently each time I look at it.

i did the door nob one. put your hands out and form a shape of a diamond. put some object in the diamond, say a doornob. close right eye. if the doornob does not go out of view, then you are left eyed...

Doesn't work for me. If I try to focus fully on my hands then I can see both the left eye and right eye image, so I'd then have to decide which one to cover up, which defeats the purpose of it.

im not much faster than you with roux but turn off the inspection timer. Try to look at every single possibility. I almost always over inspect and it helps a lot.
