¯\_(ツ)_/¯ go for it. But you'll just end up with a weird inferior version of waterman so be forewarned

Actually you would just need to generate like 6 or 7 Algs if you used CMLL without the breaking of the bottom layer.

Some CFOP to Roux solvers that know OLL and PLL, try this:

Solve one whole side with intuition (make cross and insert corners if intuitive too slow)
Put all edges of the opposite on other side. ( with an edge 3 cycle)
Solve the other with OLL and PLL
L4E

Actually I think this would be much faster then CFOP regularly.

This is a fun method but I don't think it is faster than CFOP as the OLL and PLL coupled with the 3-cycles will have a higher movecount than CFOP but with less tps spamming algs. I would also say this sounds a lot like waterman. You could also try leaving the UL edge unsolved and use it to sort of keyhole the edges into the R side and so remove PLL with less moves (I think)

the kind of roux i do (don't laugh plzz)

1. the blocks on either side first the edge piece then the f2l pairs
2.do the OCLL case by recognizing the corner placement then do a random PLL to permute the corners
3. place the rest of the edges i started of with i.e. white
4. do either H,Z,Ua,Ub perm to solve the remaining edges
5. Do ELL to finish off

You could actually probably use ELL and CMLL to solve the other side.

Video PLX I wanna see this. Fastest time?

that's what a lot of cfop users start off with when they try roux, or something very similar.

Haha, just do CFCE

Well, I tend to try and find the edge first, I must admit that, but not always, if I find it already paired to a corner. The rest I don't feel identified with, I'm a fopper but when I tried Roux I tried to adopt it the best I could. Except that I use OLL & PLL instead on CMLL because I have yet to learn the algs. Apart from that, pure Roux, just much, much slower than any true Rouxer (my best all time single was like a 35 or so and I have not practiced in some months, but I would like to come back to it in the future).

Learn 2 look CMLL.

2 look CMLL has mostly the same algs as 2 look OLL I'm more than sure he knows it

Well, I use the same algs you would use for 2x2 OLL in Ortega method 'cos these are a bit shorter in some cases than the 3x3 ones that preserve the LL edges. E.g.: for headlights case I just do the T OLL (F R U R' U' F') instead of the 2nd look OLL (R2 D R' U2 R D' R' U2 R').

And then either T-perm or Y-perm if corner permutation is needed.

Probably not the fastest 2L CMLL approach but enough for me to not bother learning any other until I decide to learn 1L CMLL. Also not very "Roux-y" as I don't use Niklas at all :)

By looking at the video, is there anything that I should do (or shouldn't)?
I usually practice starting from other colors but I'm faster with blue and I was trying to get a good average.

I average around 38 seconds, I'm already learning CMLL (because I think it will take me months to learn it all), only H and Pi sets for now, and still very slow recognizing and executing them.

Should I focus on something specific or just keep practicing and learning algs?

Thanks. I may still adopt your fingertricks, I have already tried but it looked like I was not ready for that. I have tried doing U2 with right index followed by right middle finger, but I also like doing M2 with left ring followed by right ring, but since I can't do both I'm still not using either while solving. I think I'm going to try doing U2 using both index fingers (first U with left index finger "reversed way move" and finish with right one) and doing M2 with left pinky and ring fingers (or just trying to do 2 fast M' with left ring finger, because my left pinky is pretty useless at least for now... doing M2 with left and right ring fingers would leave me grabing the cube with only 4 fingers, what I'm not sure if it's a good idea).

For M I've tried pushing from DB to BU but I can't do that, maybe I'll try again in the future if my cube gets faster (or if my ring finger gets stronger... and longer).

nice, U2 with right hand is probably the priority, i saw you loosing a lot of time in cmll and lse doing U U.

i also saw you do something interesting on one of the solves, you did your first block on right and your second block on left. the advantage of doing first block on left it that your whole second block which contains lots of R and r moves is done right handed. if you feel like you are better with your right hand, do first block on left, if you feel like you are equal, then i guess you can do either and avoid B moves in first block by doing your first block opposite.

When I started doing first blocks with other colors I didn't think of any disadvantages so since then what I do is my blue or red blocks fixed on the left and my green/orange on the right, starting my first block on the right or the left. I asked about it a few days ago https://www.speedsolving.com/forum/...ssion-thread&p=1115991&viewfull=1#post1115991

In fact I'm better with my right hand, now I see how this affects me, thanks... but I think I'll continue doing the blocks like this, maybe my left hand improves this way.

true, my left hand is pretty bad but it doesn't really need to be that good. it looks like you are super efficient move count wise for your speed. so just finish up your cmll, finish your fingertrick scheme and practice, for now.

Oh really? I didn't expect I was efficient (for my speed), maybe the L6E is not that bad but I was thinking my worst part were the F2B. Usually I can't even plan my first 2x2 during inspection.
