Thanks. I've ended up taking this one for D5 and the rest from Waffles. His D5 is slightly awkward for me.

is the possibility of a specific cmll case 1/42?
Almost. It's 1/40.5 with four exceptions:
1/162 for a CMLL skip,
1/162 for a diagonal corner swap with corner orientation solved,
1/81 for H case with permutation solved,
1/81 for H case with diagonal corner swap.
Of course! People do influence the next step in Roux. It's most often done during CMLL by orient some edges.hi, does it still count as The Roux Method if you do extra things during each step to make the next steps easier??

I think Ross uses it, but it isn't fast on 5x5 imo (Roux, not RossWho here uses roux on 5x5? Is it fast?
I think Ross uses it, but it isn't fast on 5x5 imo (Roux, not Ross). Petrus or CFOP is better.

no, no. you'd be quite correct in saying that i'm not fast at 5x5. ive only dropped about 20 seconds in 2 years in that event XD. i still cant seem to get sub 1 with any consistency. the only problem i see with applying it to big cubes is the lack of inspection time. slice moves are whatever, theyære easy to get used to.
i mean sub 2. being within the 1s is what im trying to get across![]()
You're faster than I am! It's easy to transition into the 3x3 stage on 4x4 if you use Meyer, though that's not very useful on 5x5+.no, no. you'd be quite correct in saying that i'm not fast at 5x5. ive only dropped about 20 seconds in 2 years in that event XD. i still cant seem to get sub 1 with any consistency. the only problem i see with applying it to big cubes is the lack of inspection time. slice moves are whatever, theyære easy to get used to.
M moves aren't too bad on 4x4. Do you have a mini AoSu?I find M slices a big problem on big cubes (4x4), especially lse. fingertricking the cube comfortably is impossible for me. I can imagine how inspection is a problem on 5x5 with rouz, yeah (although it isnt as bad as zz).

Also I think ZZ could have easier inspection on bigcubes than Roux, especially on 5x5 since there's no parity.
I thought it was K4, which is more direct than reduction. I have a feeling this is a rhetorical question. I'm probably doing K4 wrong though, because it takes me more moves than redux.i'm kind of surprised the best big cube methods are all reductional, which human viable method for 4x4 has the least number of moves?
no i have a full sized aosu. I guess zz would be about the same on 5x5 and 7x7, but I dont think it would be much better than roux. On 4x4 and 6x6 i can see how it would be a problem though lol.
has anyone tried taking a ZZ first step when solving roux? as in EO before beginning your roux solve (R U L first 2 blocks) and your EO is already done for LSE
basically just leave out the EOLine
does this sound pointless or not eh
i think it's not too good. i don't know zz, but i'm going to guess it takes about 6 moves to solve eo, in roux lse, eo takes about 6 moves too. for first block and second block, blockbuilding is limited, can only do M2 and not as block buildy, you probably have to shift from left to right rather than all left then all right.
