No, 100 Guanlongs so all get one XD. Though on a serious note, yes, I do know yours was just a way to start and I will start practising Roux as soon as my cubes come. Any bad thing your video teaches that I should avoid as it will be hard when I switch to advanced one?

If you are committed to getting fast, skip my corners step, and look at Donovan's instead. Mine is only two algorithms, but it's very slow. It's much better to learn proper two look CMLL.

Your two alg tutorial confused the hell out of me. Luckily I figured the J-perm and Y-perm for the two step myself ;) If not I would probably have stopped Roux practice...

Interesting, I slightly agree with this too since I can't even count how many times I've screwed up a solve with lockups and silly turning mistakes. But, everyone's different, I suppose.
For me that only happens with medium tensions. With tight cubes I turn reallh aggressively and I actually get annoyed when my times are bad, and with loose cubes, I just turn really carefully, look ahead well and everything's perfect.
edit: loose cubes slow down my cmll though

ideal for me is slightly loose with gummy amount of lube.

I have been a fan of super tight where pulling as hard as you can only pulls out the pieces 1 or 2 centimeters (bout half an inch for u guys) and pretty gummy. Silicone freezes as -5 degrees Celsius which is 22 degrees farenheit so my cube I think is now a little dry.

Here is something another member said that sums up what method you should choose perfectly:

Why do I rarely see big cubes mentioned in these arguments? I really think it's an important consideration. Ask anyone whose main event is big cubes and I'm sure they'll tell you that they're glad they chose CFOP. I don't like the way people blindly recommend Roux without mentioning big cubes.
Also be aware that every single method has a large number of algorithms. It's something you cannot escape no matter which method you choose, so instead of running from them, you should quickly overcome that fear if you really want to get sub 30.

Personally I'd give the following advice:

Learn CFOP if you want to be fast at everything. If you want to be fast with big cubes, definitely learn CFOP.
Learn Roux if you're especially interested in 3x3, and you like the idea of intuitive solving.
Learn ZZ if you're not interested in big cubes, and you like the idea of rotationless solves (especially good for OH).
Play around with all methods. At very least learn the steps of the big four (CFOP, Roux, ZZ, Petrus).

11.25 official average with 9.12 and 9.44 singles :) http://m.cubecomps.com/competitions/767/events

Organizing didn't stress me out too much I suppose.
(Sub GuRoux officially btw)

Nice average. I really want to go to a comp now... by the time I go to my first comp my average will probably be better than your average unless you go to more comps between now and may...nice skewb win btw. You organized the comp? How do you do that?

Yeah, I organized. It takes a lot of work getting a venue and timers and managing the schedule on the day of the comp. I had to get a delegate to make the comp official. So there's a lot of work to do, both before and on the day of the competition.
I failed skewb (albeit less in the finals).
And thanks for the kind words -- it's really encouraging to have someone tell you that he will get a faster average when he has no idea of how he will do.

Talk is cheap. You have to perform before you can say anything. :)

Good job Ryan. Nice singles too!

Thanks! The singles really surprised me. I hardly get counting 9's in at home ao5's, so I was really happy about it. Unfortunately they weren't filmed, but I might upload some footage from the comp (I got a few videos in the finals).

hopefully i can beat this when i go to a comp. i probably will be able to beat the average but the single is might be 50/50.

Lol sorry. Just seems weird how official results and how up to date they are depend on the number of comps in your area. Besides, I bet you will be sub 10 by may and I will be very close or it. What I meant was that I will be going to a comp in may, and by that time, I have a chance of beating your current in comp pb which may stay your in comp pb if you dont go to comp until then, which is (judging by your convenient location) pretty imptobable. Sorry again, and its not like official results really matter (in comparison with actual global average).
