[Help Thread] ZZ and ZB Discussion

I think after the Nebraska Open, I'm going to learn ZZ. I don't know if I'll switch to it for good, but it sounds like a lot of fun (if I can get EOline down :o).

EOline isn't really as hard as it sounds. But why wait until after Nebraska Open? :D

Because it's in six days and I don't want to ruin any (small) chance I have at getting a sub-20 average with CFOP at my first comp.

Today i started learning ZZ-VH! Still praticing EOLine, then i will learn COLL.
Best avg12 is 25.xx (i avg 16 using CFOP), but i iam still using EO then cross

It appears that my ZZ times are just about the same as my CFOP time, even though I haven't exactly been practicing it lately...

Nonetheless, gimme a week!
Sub18 ZZ here I come!

I find my Fridrich times decreasing with my ZZ times. It's kind of discouraging in a way, actually.>.>

Like I was ~20 with CFOP and like ~25 with ZZ.
I do a buncha ZZ practicing, and it's all 22 ZZ 19 CFOP.
Then more CFOP, and it's all 18 CFOP, 20 ZZ. >_>

i havent been practicign zz at all
been purely learning algs <_<
Gah, I must improve my F2L, but don't you worry. I got in 4 for each of the past 2 nights. :)

I think you should start ZZ-VH first. Then add on those additional algs to make your last layer one look. f2l takes a lot of time to practice so if you neglect practice, it will fail like my 2H times.

I've been learning ZZLL :D

Finished off my COLLs properly and learned half of the H subset in the past 2 days.

Anyone else actually started on ZZLL or ZBLL lately?

Quick question:
ZZ-VH, ZZ-b, or ZZ-WV?
kthnxbai.

By WH do you mean WV?

Personally I'd say avoid WV, because of the speed of recall and execution of OCLLs. I've looked over some WV algs, and at least a few of them are basically OCLLs with a cancellation. IMO that just shows it's not worth it.

Give it a try anyway though, it might click for you.

Innocence: I want to eventually, but some of my COLLs are still really bad. I want to be reasonably fast (sub-15?) before I really start. GL though!

WV recognition is very easy. Have you actually learned a few algs?

I've always rejected that reasoning, I believe the earlier you start the better, on the basis that you have more time to get better at recognition and execution of the algs and stuff.
