Upcoming 3x3s

Looks like ShengShou are back at it again with what will probably be a piece of junk that I will buy 5 of and never sell...legend s2.png
wholesale price is basically the same as the Meilong 3C which is currently the cheapest standard sized 3x3 speedcube.

Is this there mechanism to avoid even having a screw? Even the Meilong 3C can afford to have a screw!

New gan 14 limited edition.
Source: @NOANOSTALGIA on twitter (reputable cube insider)
I think there will be a limited edition of the Super Weilong within 6 months. If nothing else, it will make the prices of the current ones look more reasonable. The Tornado V3 OTOH is still going strong after more than a year and there's no sight of a V4. I wish they would consider putting the concentric ring magnets in it, like in the Guhong Pro M, but give the tension more adjustments. That hopefully will also give their Maglev the same feeling as springs. And it would be great if they also offer a smaller 54.5mm (vs 55.5mm) version. That's all they need to do to make it perfect IMO, since it's already so good. These small changes should also mean a reasonable price.

The new Qiyi Max cubes are on Cubezz.

18cm is $31.99: https://cubezz.com/Buy-7527-QiYi+Warrior+PLUS+188+cm+Magic+Cube.html

38cm normal version is $262.99: https://cubezz.com/Buy-7528-QiYi+Warrior+PLUS+Max+38+cm+Magic+Cube.html

38cm "box" version is $269.99: https://cubezz.com/Buy-7529-QiYi+Warrior+PLUS+Max+Box+38+cm+Magic+Cube.html

For those that don't know, the box version has removable tiles that allow the cubies of the cube to be used as a storage area, like for other cubes. Also makes it really easy to magnetize the cube.

Thanks to Fukuoka and Uncle Frank for news and info about this cube. From the Upcoming Puzzles thread,

The 55.5mm cube weighs 82g and it is very basic. It has no magnets, and just 1 screw for adjustment. The black stickered look is interesting, but I really think anyone interested in solving cubes should try to save a few more dollars and buy the black QiYi M Pro instead. Perhaps this cube is meant for very young children (no tiny magnets getting loose).

Released already, the 20-magnet ball core version of the V9.

OK, you know what, this will be followed in the coming months by the 20-magnet ball core versions of the YS3M, the Super RS3M, and then the V5, in that order I think. 😄 After all those, we might see an updated spring system rolled out for each of those series. 😁. And then in the next round, the adjustible corner magnets. 😉

To maximise the profits, I really think MOYU should sell the 20 magnet ball core as a kit also, a lot of owners will not but another cube just for that, but they will likely spend some money on the kit.

That doesn't sound like Moyu, if they did that. They like to over bundle their products (carrying bags, tools, accessories and other extras, IMO, rather than selling parts to reduce their variety or proliferation of products.

True. Also maybe selling the kit will create some inventory risk? the additional profit might not be worth taking the risk?

Well this new brand and cube completely appeared out of nowhere:1705060115537-Haitun-Waveriver-V1-Market-Material_06.jpg1705060118651-Haitun-Waveriver-V1-Market-Material_04.jpg1705060116221-Haitun-Waveriver-V1-Market-Material_03.jpg1705060116626-Haitun-Waveriver-V1-Market-Material_05.jpg
I wonder if it will be any good? Looks like the earliest I could have them in stock would be around 20-25th January
